If you need an inexpensive personal laser printer with has a nice sharing option built into it then the Brother HL 2070N printer is the perfect choice. It can either be connected to your existing home network or directly to a computer. The printer prints excellent text quality that is not only crisp but also well defined.
You wont have any problems setting up this printer since it weighs a mere 14.3 pounds and easy to handle. The built-in automatic setup utility helps you set up your printer to your network in quick easy steps. However we noticed that the design of the Brother HL-2070 closely resembles that of the HL 2040. It does have the very same print engine and paper capacity of 250 sheets. It still has the convenient option of manual paper feed.
We would like to add that this printer is not the HL 2040 with just a network option added because as a matter of fact it has more memory. The print job is also processed at the printer rather than your computer working on the print job.
The HL 2070 is blazing fast and turns out a decent number of pages in 60 seconds. People purchase laser printers because of their speed and text quality and this one fills the bill perfectly. However printing photos is slow and the result is not very good as some might imagine. This isn't a graphics printing master and shouldn't be used as one. Its strength is monochrome text.
There is a problem with the printer that makes it an awful paper handler. Some how the printer manages to inevitably curl the pages. This problem will hopefully be fixed in up coming models. This printer is for those people who want a printer to print high quality text. If you want to print graphics then don't consider this printer for the job.
This printer has been set at a very good prince level and does a decent job. It excels at what laser printers are meant to do and that is print high quality text. It can still print small low resolution graphics but you shouldn't expect good results. However it does quite a good job at printing fine monochrome graphics which some word documents have.
Brother HL 2070N Toner has a good capacity and can give you long life for a considerable period of time. Unlike other laser printers available you don't need to constantly have it replaced. In most offices the Brother HL Toner Cartridges should give you a service life of a few months depending how much the printer is used.
