Ladies and Gentlemen... Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band!

I spent my childhood summers on the Jersey Shore. OK, so I'll admit it. I get pretty pumped up when I hear Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band's live version of "Jersey Girl" on the radio.

"I got no time for the corner boys
Down in the street making all that noise
Or the girls out on the avenue
`cause tonight I wanna be with you
Tonight I'm gonna take that ride
Across the river to the jersey side
Take my baby to the carnival
And I'll take her on all the rides

`cause down the shore everything's all right
You and your baby on a Saturday night
You know all my dreams come true
When I'm walking down the street with you..."

Does that make ME a Jersey girl?? Don't tell me.

If I were going to host a benefit concert for one of my favorite charities, I would ask Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band to play. A guaranteed success!

Virtual Concert Week on Squidoo

Music to Raise Money = A Good Time

U2 talks about the One Campaign in every concert they have. Coldplay talks about Oxfam International. A stage with thousands of screaming adoring fans is a good time to promote a good cause.

Remember "We Are the World"? Farm Aid? Band Aid? All hosted to raise money for causes. How? Bands got together to perform, raise awareness and donate money. What a great idea!

Summer is concert season. It seems like all bands go on tour. Nothing like live music on a warm summer night!

What if you could host a benefit concert? You have a cause that's important to you. What better way to have it announced than by your favorite performer in a room full of people who paid big bucks to get there?

Who would you pick and what cause would you raise money for? Make a lens and tell us about it!

To benefit whom?

Bruce shows up. Tickets are sold out.

Who gets the benefit at this benefit concert? Big dream. Big money. Who do I pick?
Inner City Scholarship Fund
Thousands of children in NYC are living below the federal poverty line. The Inner City Scholarship Fund helps these students with scholarships to the best schools around. Got a great brain but no money? No problem.

Which album would I ask Bruce and the band to play?

I can't pick!

Magic. Darkness on the Edge of Town. The Wild, The Innocent, the E Street Shuffle. Born in the U.S.A. Born to Run. The Rising.

Don't make me pick a favorite!

The Set List

All the Talk

One of the best things about going to a Bruce Springsteen show, other than the incredible energy, is trying to figure out what the band is going to play. With decades worth of work, there is much to choose from and only a limited amount of time!

Will he play Rosalita? Will The River be heard? What about Thunder Road? Candy's Room? Adam Raised a Cane? Bobby Jean? Trapped? Tougher than the rest? Hungry Heart?
BackStreets lists the set lists from each show!
Never a dull moment in a concert! Sometimes checking the set lists to previous shows on a tour helps to give a hint what he'll play for you!

So many Bruce fans...

So little time

They're everywhere and they're not just from Jersey!

It may not be pretty - but it's good!

Bruce is a generous guy!

He does benefit concerts all the time.

Maybe he really do one for me? And play stuff from Darkness on the Edge of Town like he does here...

Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band - Part 1 of 8

5.7.2008-Benefit Concert at the Count Basie Theater in Red Bank, New Jersey. The videos are in the order of the concert with mostly clips of songs, not all full songs. A bit dark in the theater in the beginning but great concert none the less. Great guitar solos also! (more)
