IN THE BEGINNING...

The Inventor, in the distant past of early August of 1928 in a land called Philadelphia, noticed the big bubbles his invention had created and more than likely, among other things, proclaimed "IT IS GOOD," and thus began the roots of Bubblegum Heaven.

Walter Diemer, after a decades long struggle by the Frank Fleer Co. to bring the dream to life, finally in 1928 broke through the wall and invented this wonderful thing we call bubblegum. His dream was to create a gum that blew big bubbles and would thereby create big FUN, and so it has ever since, finally culminating in The BUBBLEGUM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, a contest created by the world's greatest bubble blowers for the world's greatest bubble blowers. The bubbles that have been blown in this contest are some of the biggest bubbles ever blown.

Check out our lens for more information on the great Walter Diemer.and then read our article on him at the Bubblegum Heaven website, which tells his story in a way nothing else on the internet does!

Susan Montgomery Williams, The fabulous CHEWSY SUZY

Greatest bubble blower who has ever lived!

As a little girl she had a problem blowing bubbles. They would always pop on her nose and chin. So what does the greatest who ever lived do? Invents the "CHEWSY SUZY CINCH" (as pictured in the video, her holding the bubble), breaks the Guinness World record in 1979 and goes on to break her own record three more times. Sept. 2009 will be the 30th anniversary of her record breaking accomplishment.

The envy of millions who would love to break her record, she has gone on to countless TV appearances, one of history's weirdest court cases when she was arrested for loudly popping her gum and disturbing the peace of a rock and roll concert, which was on national TV, and more recently co-creating The BOMB Squad and the BUBBLEGUM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP.

For more info on Susan Mont"GUM"ery Williams ("I was born to chew bubblegum-my name even has "GUM" in it!" a quote she made on the Johnny Carson Show), see her website at www. chewsysuzy.com.

The Gum Blowin' Granny, Joyce Samuels

Guinness World Record Holder, Largest Bubble Blown From the Nose

One of the most creative people to ever pick up a piece of bubblegum.

Joyce Samuels made her mark on the bubblegum history books by not just breaking, but CREATING a whole new category of bubblegum bubble blowing, bubbles blown from the nose. She first created the Guinness World Record with an 11 inch bubble and then later broke it with a 16 inch bubble. The very idea of what she has done has created gobs of opportunity for bubble blowers every where, a whole new category to aim for.

The alliance of Joyce and Susan began at world famous Bubblegum Alley, during the taping of MTV's "Call To Greatness" and has continued right on through the creation of The BOMB Squad and The BUBBLEGUM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP.

Dr. Enaught T. Wiseham

Founder of Enaught's Bubbles

Dr. Wiseham's background as the supreme proponent of the use of unlimited amounts of bubblegum to blow bubbles asserted itself at a key time in bubblegum history.

When Susan Montgomery Williams and Joyce Samuels were teaming together to create change in the bubblegum world, it was Wiseham's voice that would forever change the face of that world. And that voice was loud and clear. While the Guinness World Records are great and much needed, the big bubble blown with unlimited amounts of bubblegum was equally important, if not more so.

It was an idea that he would use to co found the group BUBL, which was later to be merged into the Williams/Samuels group to form The BOMB Squad, which later lead to The BUBBLEGUM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP.

Dr. Wiseham's group, Enaught's Bubble Gum Bubbles, can be seen at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/enaughtsbubbles/

What is "GUMpetition?"

It's a word coined by Chewsy Suzy to describe the intense competition that comes with blowing bubbles. It's been that way from the beginning, when the creator of bubblegum used to hold contests at his house to see who could blow the biggest bubble. It doesn't matter if they happen at homes, on schoolyards (and probably in classrooms), in back alleys, at fairs, 4th of July celebrations or even on the Internet like The BUBBLEGUM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. When you get people together who love big bubbles, you are just going to want to see who can blow the biggest one!

Suzy's motto was "29 years and still looking for some GUMpetition." At least that was her version of it when she died on Oct. 1, 2008. It was a motto that had to be updated with each passing year. 29 years earlier she had achieved her Guinness World Record and was always looking for someone to challenge her, and while millions tried, no one could ever pull it off. She has remained unchallenged all the way to her tragic ending and beyond.

You know, when dominate a field like Suzy has for so long and the competition you ask for never shows up, you start looking for an alternative and it was that way with Chewsy Suzy. Fortunately for the bubble blowing world she was around long enough to help develop The BUBBLEGUM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, an alternate means of giving bubble blowers their shot at glory. The contest comes with rules that don't restrict the blowing of bubbles the way that bubbles she blows are restricted. They are in a whole different category, mainly they are bubbles blown with no restrictions on how much bubblegum can be used.

So yes, Suzy always looked for GUMpetition. And while she never got it, she sure did help give the world another fabulous and fun way to GUMpete!

Has Chewsy Suzy's Guinness World Record Been Broken?

Word has come from an article on the internet from Pakistan that someone claims to have broken Susan Montgomery Williams Guinness World record with a "30 inch chewing bubble."

This interesting article says that the man took bubble blowing seriously after reading about Williams in a magazine (possibly in Smithsonian Magazine, where she her picture appeared next to a picture of bubblegum creator Walter Diemer, in what must be the closest thing to a two-picture history of bubblegum imagianable).

In any case this had to be a tremendous effort but questions come to mind, among them is were all of the Guinness rules followed? As of this point we haven't heard that this is an official record.

Rather it is a record or not it is interesting to point out the connection the man makes to Chewsy Suzy, and it is even more interesting to note that on the picture on this article this man is using the Susan Montgomery Williams invented technique "The Chewsy Suzy Cinch."

Rather he takes the record or not we'd like to congratulate him for the the accomplishment and invite him to participate in the Chewsy Suzy co-created BUBBLEGUM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, where we feel he would be a tremendous competitor!@

Chewsy Suzy Update: MEGA Bubble legend dies Oct. 1, 2008

It is with great sadness we must report the death of Guinness World Record holder and BOMB Squad co-founder Susan Montgomery Williams on Oct. 1, 2008.

After a nearly 30 year career as the holder of the record, in which she came to be regarded by many as the world's greatest bubble blower, her life ended on the day of her most recent bubblegum triumph, the naming of the first world champion of bubblegum in bubblegum's greatest contest ever, The BUBBLEGUM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, a contest she played a major role in creating.

Our picture we have posted here is the last bubble she ever blew, the day before an anuerism put her in the hospital, from which she was never to recover. It is a picture of 2 bubbles blown within a bigger bubble, taken right at the moment the 2nd bubble burst.

For a bit on her obituary, and another great picture of the CHEWSY Suzy Cinch, go to:

The BUBBLEGUM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP Scoreboard

These are the results and final points totals of The BUBBLEGUM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP for 2008. Congratulations to all participants in the greatest contest ever!

The Biggest Bubbles Of All Time

These are the 10 big bubbles ever blown in a non-GWR contest, (our first listing from the early days of the BWC). We came to this conclusion after consultations with BOMB Squad Heroes and research of many of the more important contests that have ever been held.

Should any evidence surface to the contrary we will be glad to act accordingly, but we would encourage anyone who has pictures of themselves blowing this kind of bubble to please enter it into the contest so we can create a new list of the biggest bubbles ever with that bubble included.

The BUBBLEGUM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP set out to prove it is the greatest contest ever, and these bubbles blown in the contest prove the point.

As this module is updated, the Biggest Bubbles Of All Time list currently stands at 53 bubbles, and grows with each BWC event. To see the current Biggest Bubbles Of All Time, check out Bubblegum Heaven!

Why YOU Should Enter The BUBBLEGUM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

By Bobby "BOOM BOOM" Bickerson, Commissioner, The BUBBLEGUM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

If you have any interest at all in blowing bubbles and you qualify, you really should enter The BUBBLEGUM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP.

"Well why, Mr. BOOM BOOM?" you might be asking.

Obviously if you have the talent you should be trying to achieve bubblegum glory because it can be quite rewarding, and the BWC is making every effort to make it more so. Chewsy Suzy for example got to travel a big part of the world, expenses paid, and earned substantial money showing off her talents. She appeared on big TV shows many times and was looked up to by millions.

But even if you don't have that kind of talent it doesn't mean you'll stay that way forever. Once the GUMpetitive urge kicks in and you start taking bubble blowing a little more seriously, there's no telling where you might take your talent. Possibly even to the top.

As I write this the BWC is still in it's infancy, and yet it has been so successful the top ten largest bubbles ever have been blown in it. What an amazing accomplishment! We have hardly scratched the surface here and have all kinds of room to grow, and no telling where the BWC will end up. And what's cool about that is that gives people even with limited bubble blowing talent an outstanding chance to grow right along with us.

It's a long term project, and our competitors should feel the same way. They don't need to be the world's greatest bubble blower right now, they can get into the contest, get their feet wet, start scoring some points now for their lifetime totals, and try to improve little by little until they are blowing some great bubbles. Start building your own bubblegum story and then who knows, maybe it will one day turn into legend!

Yes, you definitely should enter The BWC. It's free and easy, it's available right where you are, and most of all, it's good, clean fun. It's gives you a terrific conversation piece. And you just never know. Perhaps one day it will mean fame and fortune.

The BUBBLEGUM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. Enter it today at www.bubblegumheaven.com and grab your piece of the action!

How Would YOU Like To Be A Sports Hero?

Have you ever dreamed of being a sports hero? Did it happen for you? Or did something stand in the way? Do you still have the opportunity? Or do you think any chance you've ever had has slipped away?

I'm Bobby "BOOM BOOM" Bickerson and I'm telling you (with finger pointed at YOU) that, with just a few really basic qualifications, that YOU can make it happen for yourself.

YOU can experience the ultimate sports thrill. YOU can climb to the top of the mountain and raise your finger to the sky for the whole world to see, and proclaim "I'm #1!"

What are those basic qualifications? At this point, you need to be over 18, have access to the internet and a way to get a picture on it and be able to buy some bubblegum and blow bubbles. In other words, it's opportunity millions of other people around the world have, and if your reading this you very likely are one.

Do those same millions have the same opportunity to win the Super Bowl? The World Series? The Heavyweight Championship? Or the championship of who knows what other sports are out there?

I don't think so.

But now, thanks to the leadership of the greatest bubble blowers ever, that opportunity exists for YOU, and the bubblegum blowing world is just waiting for YOU to pull it off!

See, we don't care how big or tall you are, how well conditioned, how far you can hit or throw the ball, how fast you can run, or any of that stuff. We only care about that simple basic question that what was there since the beginning of bubblegum history. How big you can blow a bubble?

Perhaps you have an interest in blowing bubbles but you look at this page and you tell yourself "wow, I could never compete with that!" Don't make the mistake of selling yourself short like that. With a good deal of practice, we very often hear about people who suddenly blow bubbles of sizes they never would have believed they were capable of. And it's not rare that once they've blown a good size bubble they will press for more and begin blowing bubbles much bigger than the one that surprised them.

If you have the talent to win the BUBBLEGUM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP right now, that's terrific. C'mon down here, enter the contest, and lets write a new chapter for the bubblegum history books. But if your not at that level yet, that's ok too. See, The BWC is a long term project, expected to grow over time. We want people to come and grow with us, no matter what their current talent level is.

The key is to come and participate. Get your feet wet in the contest. See what it feels like to GUMpete against the world's finest. And then set a goal to do better, and practice. You don't have to be the champion today, tomorrow, or next year. You may just be "lurking in the bushes" waiting to pounce sometime in the future when you get your bubble blowing ability down just right, and you just may set the bubble blowing world on it's ear.

And YOU may be proclaimed the BUBBLEGUM WORLD CHAMPION. The highest rated bubblegum bubble blower in the world. Writing your own piece of bubblegum history.

GO FOR IT at Bubblegum Heaven!

3 things you should know about Bubblegum

1) Bubblegum was created to blow big bubbles. It's the only food we know of that can form the measurable basis of a sport like ours. That's what makes it the world's greatest food!

2) It was NOT created to taste good, to relieve stress, to be some kind of medicine, to fix things, to plug holes in dikes, to use as an eyepatch when playing pirates or anything like that, even though it is such a great product it probably could be used for all those things. It was created to blow big bubbles. If you're looking for something that tastes good, eat a candy bar. BUBBLEgum is for BUBBLES.

3) Bubblegum has been alive for over 80 years, and is probably by now an over 1 billion dollar industry, while hundreds if not thousands of other candies and foods have fallen by the wayside. Why? Because it can simply do what no other food can do. Blow MEGA bubbles!

Bonus Thing) Have you ever dreamed of sports glory but given up the dream because, for whatever reason, you thought it just wasn't for you? Well, bubblegum now offers you another opportunity. It doesn't care how big, strong or fast you are. It doesn't care how you can hit the ball, the ball carrier, or the three point shot. Or anything else. It only cares about how big a bubble you can blow. Practice that and who knows. You just might end up living the ultimate sports thrill. Pointing your finger to the sky and proclaiming "I'm #1!"

A BOMBlastic Bubble Blowing Tip From Chewsy Suzy

Over the years I had many great discussions with Susan Montgomery Williams. I would like to share one of her great tips, written in interview form.

Commissioner Bickerson: Hey Suzy, how about a good tip for all those great bubble blowers out there?

Chewsy Suzy: Sure! Well you know Bobby, when I chew bubblegum it's all about the bubble. I didn't win a Guinness World Record because the bubblegum tasted good. Actually, taste was a big distraction. I didn't need it.

CB: So you're saying a tasteless bubblegum would have been better for you?

CS: For sure. It would have allowed me to get right down to business of blowing bubbles. But I had a cure for that, and turned the taste thing into an advantage for me.

CB: Fascinating! I'm sure you did, you're the greatest ever. How did you do that?

CS: Well, before I tell you, let me explain something about bubblegum and bubbles. Next time you decide to blow bubbles, try a little test. Take two pieces of the same kind of bubblegum your going to use. Take them out of the wrapper. Now chew one of them until it is ready to blow a bubble. When you get it to that point, take it of your mouth and compare the size of it to the size of the unchewed piece. See how much smaller it is?

CB: You're right, it's way smaller.

CS: That's right. What's happened? All the sugar has gone out of the bubblegum. All the taste. Right down your throat. What do you have left? The stuff you need to blow your bubble.

CB: Ahh! In other words, you didn't need all the sugar, you didn't need all the taste?

CS: Of course not. The taste was a distraction, a thing that seemingly tried to get in the way of great bubbleblowing. And we all know what too much sugar does to you. I didn't need it, so often I would get rid of it.

CB: Interesting. You said you would turn this into an advantage for you. How did you do that?

CS: Well, think about it. If I was GUMpeting with someone else and they had bubblegum with sugar in it and I didn't, I had an advantage. First of all, they had that taste in their mouth that they were thinking about, which meant that suddenly they didn't have their full attention on bubble blowing. Second, they would have to do a lot more chewing to be ready to blow bubbles, which actually gave that person extra time to allow his mind to wander. You give a great bubble blower, or actually a great performer in any sport, an advantage like that, and that person has pretty much already won before the first bubble is blown.

CB: So how did you go about gaining this advantage?

CS: What I would do is take the bubblegum I was going to chew and knead it with my fingers under warm running water for awhile. That will be kind of like chewing, little by little the sugar (and taste) will come off it and go down the drain, until eventually I had the stuff you need to blow bubbles with.
CB: Minus the unneeded taste and distraction, right?

CS: Yeah, and minus the unneeded health problems too much sugar can cause.

CB: Do you suppose bubblegum companies who really market the taste of bubblegum will like what you are saying?

CS: Hey, when I want good taste, I'll eat a candy bar. That's what they are made for. Bubblegum was made for blowing bubbles. No one knows that better than me.

CB: Of course they don't. No one has ever done what you've done. You're the greatest ever!

CS: That's right. 29 Years and still looking for some GUMpetition, and not worried if someone beats my record because if anyone ever does I'll just blow a bigger one.

CB: Lady, when they made you, they broke the mold!

CS: They broke the mold, I broke the record. I was born to chew bubblegum. My name even has GUM in it. Susan MontGUMery Williams.

CB: Whoa! Your totally BOMBlastic!

CS: Of course. That comes with being the greatest!

What is the best bubblegum to chew for making the biggest bubbles?

This is a question that gets asked all the time. It would be a question that, with the cooperation of bubblegum companies would be easier to answer, but is difficult right now.

The problem is that if we were to say, it would be like advertising for those better brands for free. See, one of our biggest goals here is to try to get bubblegum companies behind us and our effort. We are looking for one to jump into the fray and push the industry back to it's rightful place. We want to see one dedicate itself to go all out to make the big bubble the only thing that matters in bubblegum.

If we just say "that one is the best" its a free advertisement for the company they can gloat about but it doesn't challenge them to press on that and go all out to make the bubblegum bubble all it can be.

So it's a problem. But we can give you some hints. Think "old school" bubblegums.
If you think a certain bubblegum can blow the biggest bubbles because you see TV commercials telling you one brand is really great and tastes so good, um, well, let's just say BOMB Squad Heroes will most likely have a significant advantage over you before you even start blowing bubbles. Don't think trendy. Don't think hot. Don't think you need to chew the bubblegum of the "in" crowd.

Do a little research. The answer is out there.

Pics of little tiny Bubblegum bubbles. It's NOT what we are about!

WE ARE ABOUT THE BIGGEST BUBBLES EVER. PERIOD.

It's unbelievable. But all too many people and unfortunately, even some bubble blowing contests and bubblegum companies get ALL WORKED UP over bubbles like the three pictured below. It causes NO END to the frustration! I wouldn't be surprised if you found some pictures of bubbles like these on the giant search engines before you found pictures of the kind of bubbles blown in The BUBBLEGUM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP.

When we say BIG bubbles, this is obviously NOT what we are talking about. Simply put, to be a "qualifying bubble" in The BUBBLEGUM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP the bubble has to be at least as big as your head!

Thats one of the things wrong with our bubblegum world today. Bubblegum is about BIG bubbles and bubbles like the ones below receive way too much attention. Congratulations for making it to this blog so you could find out what BIG Bubbles are really all about!

Bubblegum bubbles and the BIG Search Engines

I ask you. Does this this really seem right?

This module started as one questioning how it is such a great website like www.bubblegumheaven.com couldn't be Google ranked. You will see how it was written below.

Since then things have happened.

The Bubblegum Heaven website has since found its way onto Google in a big way, on a search term that has greatly expanded. Whereas when this was first written, a search for the word "bubblegum" would, as mentioned below, give "about 4,580,000 results," the day this was written that has ballooned to nearly 32,000,000 results. Finally our site made its way deep onto the the list of results Google would show, and from there it progressed up the ladder to where it is today, all the way up to #21 on the list, and hopefully zeroing in on the top 10.

Perhaps even more amazing is the website's climb under the two-word of "bubble gum" (with no quotation marks). This was a search which
hasn't even been aimed for, and yet the site is at #26 on Google for that!

So the moral apparently is if you find it frustrating, hang in there and keep putting in some effort. Hopefully soon you'll get recognized!

Here's how this module was originally written:

If you wanted to find out about big bubbles what you found on this page, what is something you would do other then coming to this page?

Go to the biggest search engine as possible and type in the word "bubblegum," right?

Well, how is it that if you do that (at the time this was written) you see this line "Results 1 - 10 of about 4,580,000 for bubblegum," and if you start exploring you will actually only find 763 sites listed, and the Bubblegum Heaven website is nowhere to be seen?

How is it that the home of the greatest bubble blowers ever, the greatest bubble blowing worldwide contest ever, and the ten biggest bubbles ever blown cannot get on this list?

How is that, even though the big bubble is the reason why the product not only was created in the first place but is the reason the product even exists today that this website doesn't make this list?

How is it that there are extremely few sites about bubblegum bubbles on this list, and ours is not even one of them?

How is it that the best bubblegum bubble website on this list apparently hasn't even been updated in over 10 years and ours can't make the list?

How is it this list can contain page after page of "Bubblegum Crises," "Bubblegum Anime," "Bubblegum Pop Music" and other so called "BUBBLEGUM" things like, for example, "Bubblegum is a small daemon written in C which watches a files access" or "The Bubblegum Sequencer is a physical step sequencer that lets you create drumloops by arranging colored balls on a tangible surface" or even "Burning our money: Bubblegum Economics", but NOT the BUBBLEGUM HEAVEN? These things would not even exist if it were not for bubblegum, which would not even exists if not for the BIG Bubble!

How is it a short search of the listings can reveal a site with a dead link and another one with totally no text at all, just a graphic of half an "x" and a few circles, but of course BUBBLEGUM HEAVEN is nowhere to be seen?

What do search engines have against the world's biggest bubbles?

Break down the wall! Participate in our contest! Tell your friends about Bubblegum Heaven! Link to our website! Get us recognized! Help us to create the future of bubblegum and expand oportunities for everyone to experience bubble blowing glory.

Because who knows. It just may be YOU experiencing it!

Ok, Now It's The Squidoo Search Engine's Turn For A Search Using The Word "bubblegum."

Ok, here's the results of the search for "bubblegum" when our site hit #599. I think this shows a little bit better just how it's supposed to be don.

1. Bubblegum. Biggest Bubbles EVER! #599

Ok, now we're talking. The greatest lens rises to the top. Great job, Squidoo, you are a great place to be!

Nevertheless this list is still instructive as to how it relates to the Google search. 27 results were returned for the search "bubblegum" and only 4 of them have anything to do with the product bubblegum, two of them barely. It is so frustrating to see all these sites with "bubblegum pop," "bubblegum music" "bubblegum anime," "bubblegum in a dish" and "I've come to kick ass and chew bubblegum, and I'm all out of bubblegum" and not to see the site that lives, breathes, and most importantly blows, bubblegum.

Google could definitely learn something from Squidoo!

But Mr. Boom Boom, Can't You Just Get Good Bubble Content From The Bubblegum Manufacturer's Websites?

I wish.

I wish manufacturers would dedicate themselves to selling bubblegum by making a big deal about the big bubble.

I wish everyone would just look back at the history of bubblegum and realize it's the big bubble that got the product where it is today. Simply put, no other product that we know of can do anything like that. If it hadn't have been for the big bubble, bubblegum would have been just another candy (called something else since it couldn't blow bubbles) and that everything in the world that has totally nothing to do with actual bubblegum would be called something else.

Bubblegum has been a worldwide phenomena, and if it wasn't that way you wouldn't have had so many other things in this world that have used it's name to describe what they are. Name one other product that can claim that.

And why? Simply because of the big bubble.

So you would think the manufacturers would take this message and hammer it home
like there's no tomorrow. Who knows. Perhaps you would suggest they should hoist The BOMB Squad Heroes on their shoulders and proclaim them as the greatest thing that's ever happened to bubblegum, because how can you get a better advertisement for bubblegum than by blowing and publicizing the biggest bubbles ever?

Wouldn't you think?

Well the fact is...I'll tell you what.

Just look at these links to these bubblegum manufacturers sites (in alphabetical order) and look for actual big bubble content.

Good luck, and if you find anything significant let us know!

Here's What Bubblegum REALLY NEEDS

Here's a link to an AMAZING article. What's AMAZING about it?

That someone else wrote it, and not The BOMB Squad. It's the ideas of leaders from the bubblegum industry. But it looks like they have been listening to us.

According to them it sounds like bubblegum is on the downswing and it sounds like the way to get it back up is through the promotion of bubble blowing. As it says, "Reinforce what makes bubble gum great - fun and playful competition - and bring this to life."

Imagine that. Isn't that exactly what the creator did at the beginning? Isn't that exactly what this page (and The BOMB Squad) all about? Isn't it incredible companies aren't doing this?

Isn't it NOT surprising bubblegum isn't doing as well as it used to?

Bubblegum is all about the big bubble. Enter the BWC and help bring it back to it's glory days, and maybe you'll get some of the glory too!

Heres the article . Check it out!

Bubbles. The bigger they are the WAY harder they are to blow!

Bubbles. The bigger they are the WAY harder they are to blow!

You might look at a huge bubble, like say Chewsy Suzy's Guinness World Record 23 incher, and think to yourself, "WHOA! A 23 inch bubble must be 23 times as hard as a 1 inch bubble to blow. What an accomplishment!"

Your right, it is a some kind of monumental accomplishment. But actually, you're not really giving it nearly enough credit.

To get a much better idea of what it really takes, you have to look at the volume of air that is blown into it (if it were blow as a perfect sphere). If you notice, when you blow a 1 inch bubble you can blow that thing up very fast. That's because it doesn't take much volume of air to blow it up. But if you see someone blowing a much bigger bubble you will notice after awhile it takes many breathes to make it expand.

In fact if you study the information below, you will find that a one inch bubble has a volume of .52, while a 23 inch bubble would have a volume of 6370.63! So a bubble of 23 inches is not merely a bubble 23 times bigger then a one inch bubble. Actually in terms of volume, which is probably a better measurement, it is more like an incredible 12251 times bigger! And a 50 inch bubble would be over 10 times as big as a 23 inch bubble!

So how big is your biggest bubble, volume wise?
Check the information below to find out! (The first number, the number after the underlines, is the number of inches, the second number is the volume.

1=0.52 _ 1.240701=1.00000004 _ 2=4.18 _ 3=14.14 _ 4=33.51 _ 5=78.54 _ 6=113.10 _ 7=179.59 _ 8=268.08 _ 9=381.70 _ 10=523.60 _ 11=696.99 _ 12=904.78 _ 13=1150.35 _ 14=1436.76 _ 15=1767.15 _ 16=2144.66 _ 17=2572.44 _ 18=3053.63 _ 19=3591.36 _19.25=3735 (Chewsy Suzy's First Record) _ 20=4188.79 _ 21=4849.05 _ 22=5575.28 _ 23=6370.63 (Chewsy Suzy's Current World Record) _ 25=8181.23 _ 30=14137.17 _ 40=33510.32 _ 50=65449.84

Bubblegum Stuff You Can Buy

I've seen quite a number of Squidoo pages and it seems like many of them have links to items on the internet to things you can buy, things relating to the subject of the lens.

Is it attempt to make some extra money? Is it an attempt to build their pagerank with some additional content?

Of course there are tons of bubblegum related things you could buy on the internet and this page could be clogged with them. But if it doesn't have to do with blowing BIG bubbles, or in showing pride that you can do it, it really doesn't belong here. And as far as links to places where you can actually buy bubblegum itself, we just aren't here to promote anyone's bubblegum, unless they want to really get in line with what we are doing.

You would think they would want to get in line with what we are doing, right? The product is BUBBLEgum, not TASTYgum or FLAVORgum or RELAXATIONgum or MEDICALgum or CANDYgum or whatever else it might be used for. And we are by far the greatest example and greatest proponents of what this unique product built it's reputation on.

So if you want to buy some bubblegum or something related to it, it's not hard to find out there. But as for looking here, if it doesn't help you blow bigger bubbles or doesn't help you show some pride in doing it, your not going to see it here.

The Guinness "3 Piece Rule" Versus Unlimited Amounts of Bubblegum

Where do YOU stand?

Something happened a long ago that sent shock waves through the sport of bubblegum bubble blowing. Guinness World Records recognized the record for the largest bubble.

This was one of the most important developments in bubblegum history because suddenly people who engaged in the fun pastime that bubblegum is all about had a MEGA target to shoot for. The GUINNESS WORLD RECORD. World wide recognition as being the greatest!

Suddenly bubble blowers the world over had the chance to point their finger to the sky and proclaim "I'm #1!"

Of course doing it was no easy task, and became pretty much impossible once Chewsy Suzy got her hands on the record which has been sought after by millions.

It was a really great thing but there was always one thing about it that caused some consternation. Was the Guinness World Record truly about the world's biggest bubbles?

The issue was brought to a head by the group BUBL, the Blowing Unbelievable Bubbles League. Their claim was that bigger bubbles could be blown outside of the Guinness rules, which centered around what has become known as the "3 piece" rule. This rule is that for it to be a Guinness recognized record bubble it must be blown with 3 pieces of bubblegum or less.

BUBL, lead by current BOMB Squad member Dr. Enaught T. Wiseham, claimed that bigger bubbles could be blown using more than three pieces, and supplied ample evidence to back the claim. This claim lead to a debate between BUBL and Chewsy Suzy about the merits of their positions.

Eventually a truce was made with both sides acknowledging the arguments of both positions. From this truce has sprung the BOMB Squad and ultimately The BUBBLEGUM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, giving bubble blowers the best of both worlds. They now have the opportunity, as always, to go for the Guinness World Record with three pieces or The BUBBLEGUM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, with an unlimited number of pieces.

As our picture above suggests, it is a battle between Guinness rules and BWC rules, with The BOMB Squad squarely in the middle and bringing both sides together, which leads the question for our debate below.

Which rule do YOU prefer to judge the world's largest bubbles, the three piece rule or the unlimited rule, and why?

Duel #1. Which Rule Do YOU Prefer to Judge The World's Biggest Bubbles?

This is about the Guinness "3 Piece" rule versus the unlimited rule discussed in the text module immediately above this one.

We'd like to know what you feel about the debate, what your preference is and why.

I think 3 pieces levels the playing field and makes a more even competition.

bechand says:

I would say 3 pieces should be enough !!! LOL - We had a bubble blowing contest at our willy wonka party (see my lens on it for more specifics) - but we only used one piece and had no bubbles near what you have !!! gosh !!! :O) keep up the blowing !!!

Duel #2 Agree or Disagree: This Lens SHOULD Be Listed On Google When A Search for "BUBBLEGUM" Is Requested.

UPDATE:
What you are about to read, at the time this section was written, it was a tremendous struggle to get our website listed by Google. Since then we have done exceedingly well. What you read in this module doesn't apply today, but did way back when. ***

On a pure "give your visitors the best service you can possibly give" basis, would you say that this lens should be included in the results of a Google search when the keyword used is "bubblegum?"

Do you believe that Google's visitors are served as well as they can possibly be if they go, type in the word "bubblegum," and this lens isn't there? Because as of the moment this is written that's exactly what is happening.

If you read on this lens about other websites that have to do with blowing bubbles that are on this search, you'd find this is a major aggravation with Bubblegum Heaven. If you were to actually look at some of the websites that I've mentioned you'd be shocked. I just know you would.

I mean, and I am not exaggerating here, the very best (at the time this was written)-and I mean FAR AND AWAY the best-website they have about bubbles (currently ranked #8!) has notes all over it that it hasn't been updated in over 10 years, has dead links all over it, has a number of (permanently, I guess) "under contruction" pages and has an email address that doesn't work. And it doesn't even emphasize BIG bubbles either! If you want to compare it to this lens and see what I mean, here's the URL: http://www.geocities.com/SouthBeach/Lagoon/4623/

I'm saying 2 things here. 1) By not ranking this lens, Google's visitors who are interested in bubblegum bubbles are being woefully underserved here (and perhaps tragically missing out on the opportunity to GUMpete in The BUBBLEGUM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP) and 2) when it comes to this particular search, this is an extremely important issue because bubblegum bubbles are really the reason bubblegum exists, and if bubblegum didn't exist, then this particular search wouldn't even exist and all the voluminous material that's there about things that
don't even have anything to do with bubblegum (taking up space this lens could use) would be called something else, if they'd even exist at all.

So what do you think? Should this lens be there when someone googles "bubblegum?"

Duel #3-Is Bubblegum Bubble Blowing REALLY a Sport?

People often ask this question, or simply proclaim it isn't one. Why? For no particular reason?

How wrong they are.

As dictionary.com defines "sport:" "an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature, as racing, baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, wrestling, boxing, hunting, fishing, etc."

It requires great skill and is very competitive.

Other food eating contests have been proclaimed sports and we are inclined to agree. If you can make it competitive, and turn it into an event that not everyone can do as well as others, you have a sport. The only question is is how far can you take it. We in Bubblegum Heaven are pushing that envelope.

Anyway our sport goes way beyond those other food based sports, the ones that simply measure how much of something you can eat or drink. We're are all about size. What other food can do that?.

So let us know. Do you think bubble a blowing is a sport or isn't it? And why?

sure, why not!

How We Rank Among The Top Squidoo Sports Lenses

NOTE: This module was written quite a while back, and times have changed since then.

Related to the duel above about whether or not bubble blowing is a sport, here is the list (as of when this was written) of the 13 sports sites that rate higher than this one on Squidoo. This came from a list of 15311 lenses (the pageranks stopped at around 400,000, so there actually be may be more than 15311).

Popular Lenses on Sports & Recreation
1. March Madness 2009 (LensRank: 38
2. Watch Super Bowl 2009 Live Streaming
3. 2009 Super Bowl Information (LensRank: 80)
4. Watch Margarito vs Mosley Replay Fight (LensRank: 95)
5. Watch Superbowl 2009 Online Live Streaming in Internet (LensRank: 110)
6. Ed Marinaro and the Boyz at the Ivy Football Association Dinner (LensRank: 119)
7.MalibuPilatesChairExerciser(LensRank:128)
8. KD's 2009 NFL Mock Draft - 2/3 (LensRank: 137)
9. Ideas for a Good Fantasy Sports Team Name (LensRank: 184)
10. Vintage Old School Skateboard Decks from the 80's (LensRank: 213)
11. P90X / PX90 Extreme Fitness Training Guide/home workout gym (LensRank: 265) 12. The truth about six pack abs (LensRank: 305)
13. Seized Motorcycles - Repossessed, Repo Bike Auctions (LensRank: 459)
14. Bubblegum. Biggest Bubbles EVER! (LensRank: 545)

The second is, of the 14 there is only one that is connected with a contest that most of the viewers could immediately go and participate in, and not just any contest, but the one that could earn them the world championship of the sport.

And that makes #14 unique.

Let's see how much higher it can go!

Bubblegum Heaven Links/Search

I wish this wasn't necesary BUT...

You go to a search engine looking for bubblegum bubbles. You type in "bubblegum" and what do you get? Perhaps a little information...mixed in with tons and tons of stuff that has totally NOTHING to do do with bubblegum the product. Some pages might not even have the word BUBBLEGUM on them! ARRRRGGHHH!

YOU NEED AND DESERVE GOOD INFORMATION AND YOU NEED IT NOW.

That's why I'm doing this. So next time you want to learn something about this topic, just come to this page, and if you cant find it look at the links.

So in the future, don't rely on the biggest and the best. Rely on BUBBLEGUM HEAVEN because we care about the BIG bubble. Do they?

And oh. If you find something that should go here, let us know. Thanks!

This man looks like he is going to be supreme competitor for a long time to come and appears to be building a big case for bubblegum legendhood. You may have to get an ok from him to check out his site, but if you do, it's worth it.

With a second place finish in the BWC and having blown bubble gum's 3rd largest bubble ever in a competition, "BBQ" is one of bubblegum's most unusual participants. A longtime bubble blower, she has created a number of quite interesting videos of herself. Her participation in the BWC was quite a historic event in bubblegum history, because it broke the barriers of overseas bubblegum contest participation. It showed that MEGA bubble blowing contest participants didn't necessarily have to come from the United States, which has pretty much been the history of most big contests of the past.

He's looks to be making a big effort here, and is looking like one of bubblegum's up and coming stars.

Lensmakers, YOU, Squidoo, and This Lens Are Partners!

Lets Make Our Lenses as Good As Possible. We All Benefit!

On a lens called "Who Is WHO? SquidAngels!" I saw a thing that Squid Angel Adez7 wrote about what she looks for in a lens when she is going to give a blessing.

There's a list, and #7 says:: "7. The lens will increase the value and quality of Squidoo above everything else."

It really made me think.

The thing that brings people to a website is good quality content, or if it's not, at lest that's the way it should be. You create a great product, you make a lot of sales, you show a lot of great content, you get a lot of visitors.

So, when someone makes a BOMBlastic lens people come to Squidoo and visit and see all these other great lenses, and visit some of them. Which never would have happened if the first lens hadn't been created.

The other lenses benefit from the greatness of the original lens that brought that person in.

The original lens benefits. Squidoo benefits. And those bystander lenses benefit. See, it's like a partnership. We are really all working together, like a team. The better our individual efforts, the better the team does. When this Squid Angel says what she says about increasing the value of Squidoo above all else, that in turn increases the value of our lenses.

So, hey team. I'm looking to better our lens, and hopefully increased traffic to it will mean your site can benefit on the side, just as I'm hoping you will do the same with your site. So if you can do something to help push his site farther, I sure would appreciate it.

Let me tell you a little about the goal of this site, and how I'm trying to better it.

So far in about oh, three weeks time, the rating of the only lens I've ever made looks like this (at the time this was written): "Ranked #14 in Sports, #545 overall." And I have just loaded up some extremely creative, and quite possibly unique, content on the lens. The UNOFFICIAL BUBBLEGUM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, which at this stage is here but still under construction. I think it is going to be VERY interesting.

But we have a problem.

We have this little beef with Google. We want to get listed under the searchword "bubblegum" and we have never been able to do it. We think this is a very sad state of affairs not only for ourselves but for everyone out there who loves to blow or even just watch others blow bubblegum bubbles. We think that the story of bubblegum is one of a cultural icon, an all-American success story, and one of the most interesting of all products ever developed. It has earned the love of both the young and young-a-heart worldwide.

We also feel that if bubblegum never existed, the search on Google for "bubblegum" would bring no responses instead of the 4,420,000 (probably a big majority of which has totally nothing to do with actual bubblegum) it brings now.

Bringing all this together, we feel that the very reason for the existence of bubblegum is the bubblegum bubble. That was the purpose the product was made for, and that's what built it's popularity for the 80 years of it's existence. Simply put, if you couldn't blow big bubbles with bubblegum, the product would not exist, nor would all the things that come up when you Google bubblegum.

That's the problem. As difficult as it may be to believe, in spite of us having FAR AND AWAY the best website in the world about blowing bubbles, direct from Bubblegum Heaven, which is the home of bubblegum's greatest bubble blowers (Including 2 Guinness World Record Holders), we cannot break into Google's search for bubblegum.

So how is it I want to increase the value of Squidoo and the value of your lenses?

The real goal of this lens is to try to get it listed on Google under the searchword "bubblegum." We want to be able to make our case like this: "how is it the world's greatest website for blowing bubbles can't make google's search list for bubblegum?" or "how is it that the #1 ranked lens in Squidoo Sports division can't get listed under google's search for bubblegum?" or "how is it Squidoo's #1 ranked lens can't get listed under Google's search for bubblegum?"

The way I see it, if we could get this lens listed highly on a search for "bubblegum" which is apparently an extraordinarily hard thing to do, that would be really "prime real estate" for a Squidoo lens to be in. The fact that it's the world's greatest website having to do with one of the world's most popular and well loved products. Well, what can I say. How much more could a single lens possibly increase the value of Squidoo?

If you've read this far, Squidoo Lens makers in general and Squid Angels in particular, I need your help. If you can help out by putting links on your lenses to this one, or Angels could give us blessings, that would be a big help. Angels, I'd really appreciate it you would take a look at our site, and bless it if you feel it's worthy, and of course, as mentioned elsewhere on this page, we will give a blessing in return.

Thanks for reading this, and thanks for any help you can give. Hopefully together we can help give Squidoo a little more "oomph!"

Bobby "BOOM Boom" Bickerson

P.S. If you don't believe me when I say ours is the world's greatest bubblegum bubble website, compare this with the current top ranked google website when you search for "bubblegum." It's currently the #10 website (first page) and the URL is http://www.geocities.com/SouthBeach/Lagoon/4623/. Pay particular attention to the many references that say that the the pages haven't been updated in over ten years, all the dead links, all the pages under construction, and the dead email link. Also note that the site doesn't really have any particular focus on big bubbles.

Good luck if you try to find the second best bubble site on this search!

Sad, isn't it?
