Buell 1125R
Buell Motorcycles has introduced an excting new bike to their lineup. New for 2008, the Buell 1125R pushes American motorcycle technology well beyond its previous limits. Using sleak aerodynamics, Austrian water-cooled engine technology, and innovative in-house design, Buell has developed a bike that truly can compete with Japanese and Italian made sportbikes.
A new V-twin Engine and Gobs of Horsepower
The Buell 1125R has a new liquid-cooled, V-twin engine. The engine, named Helicon, is a newly designed 1125cc double overhead cam (DOHC) V-Twin, the first liquid-cooled engine in a production Buell motorcycle. Rated at 146 horsepower, the engine was designed and built in Austria by BRP-Rotax, who also builds engines for BMW and Aprilia. The new V-twin retains Buell's legacy of V-twin engines, while providing more usable power. The Helicon, combined with Buell's legendary handling and agility make the 1125R a serious American competitor in the Sport Bike market.Additional Buell Advances
The 1125R also features a new HVA (Hydraulic Vacuum Assist) "Slipper Action" clutch, using engine vacuum to assist the clutch-lever action and to give a "slipper" effect when down-shifting at speed. The brakes have huge eight-piston calipers based on the XBRR race bike's system. The fuel tank capacity has been increased to 5.6 gallons and is still contained within the aluminum twin spar frame.

Canadian motorcycle writer David Booth had this to say about the Buell 1125R: "Any motorcycle that makes me feel both fast and comfortable at high speeds has to be the bike of the year. If I were looking to buy a track weapon, it would be a Buell 1125R."

New for 2009 - the Buell 1125CR Naked bike performance
An Overview of the 2009 Buell 1125CR
New for 2009, the naked Buell 1125CR harkens back to the nostalgia of café racers. Using a sophisticated 146-hp liquid-cooled V-Twin engine, the 1125CR is Erik Buell's 21st century interpretation of the classic café racer. The 1125R's dry weight of 375 pounds with 146 horsepower offers the rider the best weight-to-horsepower ratio it's category at 2.57 pounds per horsepower.Using a liquid-cooled V-twin and responsive handling from a proven platform. The Buell Helicon 1125 powertrain gives the rider unmatched performance. The new ECM mapping offers improved drivability below 6000rpm, even crisper throttle response, improved heat management, and significantly improved fuel economy. The 1125CR features a ram-air system the pressurizes the 12-liter air box for a gain in peak performance. The two side mounted radiators with aerodynamic cowling scoops helps to lower the center of gravity (cg) and centralize mass for even better handling on the esses.
The engine is still rigid-mounted as a structural component of the frame and integrated 5.3-gallon fuel tank (built into the frame).
