One of the unique things about Argentine tango shows is that you can eat and drink during the show. In fact, all the show venues double as full service restaurants, with tables adjacent to the stage. Some shows even offer an open bar with your price of admission!
Tango shows range from the relatively affordable ones for the budget-conscious traveler to the Broadway-priced shows for the traveler looking for exclusivity and luxury. They all have their strengths and weaknesses, and choosing one (or three) to visit can be a little daunting. So I'm here to help you with that =)
El Viejo Almacen Tango Show
This is Argentina's oldest tango show, located in the heart of San Telmo, the tango district of Buenos Aires. It's considered one of most traditional tango shows and gets high ratings for the show, which is more of a variety show than strictly tango. The price of admission includes all you can drink.
La Ventana Tango Show
Located in San Telmo, the historic tango district, La Ventana is one of Argentina's most famous tango shows. There are three stories in the old building which host three different tango shows a night! La Ventana gets high marks for having excellent food, as well.
La Esquina de Carlos Gardel Tango Show
Named after whom many consider to be the "Elvis of tango", La Esquina de Carlos Gardel lives up to its name. The show includes many local varieties of tango and celebrates the long, complex history of the genre. The building its held in is known for its beauty. This tango show ranks high for skillful dancing and overall ambiance.
Piazzolla Tango Show
Honoring another Argentine legend, this show pays tribute to Astor Piazzolla. Much of the set pays homage to the work he composed throughout his life. The food is known to be very high quality and there are many selections for dessert.
Rojo Tango Show
Rojo Tango is located at a 5-star hotel in ritziest neighborhood of Buenos Aires, Puerto Madero. The Rojo Tango dinner and show promises "love, passion, madness and glamour" expressed through the beauty and history of tango. The venue is all red-red curtains, red carpeting, and red chairs-so the show plays to this ambiance of romance and melodrama.
It's easy to book a show -- You can do it online at TangoTix.com (an online directory featuring almost every Buenos Aires tango show). They also have some reviews submitted by tourists, with a separate star rating for dinner and the show, which will make picking a show worlds easier.

Hope you find this useful. Enjoy the show!
