Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 1 3 Discs Repackaged DVD Ostensibly picking up where the movie Buffy the Vampire Slayer left off, episode one finds the vampire-stiffing Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and her mother, Joyce (Kristine Sutherland), recently moved from Los Angeles to the ironically named suburb of Sunnydale, CA. During her first day at Sunnydale High School, Buffy meets a group of people who will define the course of her new life. Cordelia Chase (Charisma Carpenter), a popular girl at school, proffers her friendship by testing Buffys coolness factor. James Spader Cordelia inquires. He needs to call me, replies Buffy, without missing a beat. But Cordelia is soon dismayed when Buffy begins hanging out with the shy computer nerd Willow Rosenberg (Alyson Hannigan), her friend Xander Harris ( Nicholas Brendon), and his buddy Jesse (Eric Balfour). Also among her new acquaintances is the school librarian, the very British Rupert Giles (Anthony Stewart Head), who just happens to be Buffys Watcher, a sort of guidance counselor for vampire slayers. Giles informs Buffy that the earth is much older than commonly accepted and was once populated by demons and vampires only vestiges of the great evil still exist. Through Giles, we also learn that after every slayer dies, another is born to take her place, and 17-year-old Buffy is the Chosen One. That night, Buffy meets the enigmatic and mysterious Angel (David Boreanaz), who warns her that Sunnydale is located on the Hellmouth -- a kind of mecca for demons and vampires of all sorts -- and the accompanying Harvest, when vampires will attempt to take over the earth, is soon approaching. Buffy is resistant to donning her mantle as the Slayer, unaware that in catacombs beneath Sunnydale, the Master (Mark Metcalf) -- a very old and powerful vampire, trapped for 60 years underground -- is now being awakened by his minion Luke (Brian Thompson) to be set free by the Harvest. Originally aired on March 10, 1996, Welcome to the Hellmouth is part one of the shows two-part pilot episode. Matt Collar, All Movie Guide

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 3 6 Discs Repackaged DVD Episode 48 finds Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) falling under the negative influence of maverick slayer Faith (Eliza Dushka). The episode is also noteworthy for the introduction of Buffys new Watcher, Wesley (Alexis Denisof), a young and unwelcome administrative type who views Giles training techniques as outmoded. At the start of the episode, Buffy dusts a vampire armed with two swords, which are then stolen by Mr. Trick (K. Todd Freeman), apparently playing some part in the mayors ascension. Later, Buffy is introduced to the uptight and overconfident Wesley, whom she immediately dislikes. Nonetheless, Wesley informs her that the vampire with the swords belonged to the 15th century duelist cult El Eliminati -- worshippers of the demon Balthazar. They are now searching for a lost amulet, which is in all likelihood harmless. After finding the amulet and discovering where Balthazar is hiding, Faith persuades Buffy -- against her better judgment -- to break into a sporting goods store for weapons. They are arrested and -- again through Faiths persuasion -- cause the squad car to crash so they can escape. Giles and a terrified Wesley are captured by the El Eliminati during the capture, Faith mistakenly kills Deputy Mayor Finch (Jack Plotnick), an act that will drive her insane and make her evil. Buffy and Angel (David Boreanaz) come to save Giles, who then shows up Wesley by deftly beheading Balthazar with some top-notch swordplay. Meanwhile, the Mayor (Harry Groener) performs a ceremony, after which he pronounces himself invincible for the next 100 days until the Ascension. Buffy confronts Faith about killing Finch -- killing a human is against slayer policy -- but Faith just doesnt care. Matt Collar, All Movie Guide

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 5 6 Discs Repackaged DVD Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) is busy staking vamps when she is interrupted by a tall, pale vampire with long black hair admiring her slayer skills -- Dracula (Rudolph Martin). Buffy, having fought more than a couple of pimply, overweight vamps that called themselves Lestat, is initially suspicious. Quickly, exiting via bat wings, his Dracula-ness is verified. Anya (Emma Caulfield) even claims to have hung out with him when she was a vengeance demon. Apparently in Sunnydale, to woo the slayer over to the darkside, Buffy and friends must separate fact from fiction to slay the dark prince. Meanwhile, Giles (Anthony Head) announces he is planning to return to England -- not before he gets in some heroic necking with a few of Draculas sexy brides. As if the appearance of the bloody prince isnt enough for this season opener, we also meet Buffys cute little sister, Dawn (Michelle Trachtenberg). Matt Collar, All Movie Guide

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 6 6 Discs Repackaged DVD Months after the death of the titular vampire slayer (see The Gift), her friends finally seem to be adjusting to life after Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar). Willow (Alyson Hannigan) and Tara (Amber Benson) are living with and caring for Dawn (Michelle Trachtenberg). Spike (James Marsters), Xander (Nicholas Brendon), and the others are carrying out routine patrol duty with assistance from the Buffy-bot, whose presence gives the illusion that the Slayer is still alive. Anya (Emma Caulfield) works at the magic shop and longs for Giles (Anthony Stewart Head) to return to England and leave her in charge. Buffys former watcher finally departs on the very day that Willow finishes her secret preparations to resurrect Buffy. Xander expresses misgivings about this supernatural enterprise, but his Wiccan friend convinces him that Buffy may be suffering unspeakably in some unknown hell dimension. Joined by the Scoobies in the woods outside town, Willow calls on the darkest of magicks to implore the god Osiris to bring back her friend. Unfortunately, at that very moment, a demon biker gang arrives, having bested the Buffy-bot in combat and learned that it isnt really the Slayer. Willows spell thus disrupted, she and her devastated friends flee, convinced that their chance to bring Buffy back has been wasted. Six feet under a nearby tombstone, however, Buffys decomposing corpse suddenly reanimates. Originally broadcast October 2, 2001, on the UPN network, Bargaining, Part 1 marked episode 101 of the cult-favorite series. A new beginning in more ways than one, this resurrection-themed episode also marked the programs move to UPN from the rival WB network. It was originally shown in a two-hour block with Bargaining, Part 2. Brian J. Dillard, All Movie Guide

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 7 6 Discs Repackaged DVD

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 7 6 Discs Repackaged DVD The seventh-season opener of Buffy the Vampire Slayer begins with a prologue in which an unknown young woman is chased and killed by unseen assailants, helping set the stage for an episode full of portents and foreshadowing. Back in Sunnydale, Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Dawn (Michelle Trachtenberg) are attacked by a newborn vamp during a training exercise Dawn, it seems, is following in her big sisters demon-fighting footsteps. Shes also following Buffy to the recently rebuilt Sunnydale High School. On the first day of classes, Dawn and some fellow students are attacked by the ghosts of a janitor and two students who haunt the decrepit catacombs beneath the school. Buffy saves the day with some help from Xander (Nicholas Brendon) and later receives a surprise offer from the new principal, Robin Wood (D.B. Woodside), to become a part-time guidance counselor. She agrees, but the biggest shock of her day is encountering Spike (James Marsters), who lurks, apparently insane, beneath the school. As for the recently deranged Willow (Alyson Hannigan), shes over in England being trained by Giles (Anthony Stewart Head) to harness her powers for good. Meanwhile, vengeance demon Halfrek (Kali Rocha) urges Anya (Emma Caulfield) to use her powers for evil if she wants to avoid annoying their demon masters. Halfrek also alludes to dark stirrings in the underworld perhaps shes talking about the shape-shifting apparition whos tormenting poor, mad Spike by assuming the forms of each big bad villain from previous seasons Warren (Adam Busch), Glory (Clare Kramer), Adam (George Hertzberg), Mayor Wilkins (Harry Groener), Drusilla (Juliet Landau), and the Master (Mark Metcalf). Taking the form of Buffy herself, the fiend promises Spike that were going right back to the beginning. Originally broadcast September 24, 2002, on the UPN network, Lessons marked episode 123 of the cult-favorite series. Although David Solomon was credited as the episodes director, series creator Joss Whedon helmed the scenes between Giles and Willow, which were filmed on location in England. Brian J.
