The 4 Simple Steps
Stimulate your muscles with resistance which builds muscle so your body can avoid the stress from occuring again. Once you are done working out, let the muscle heal through rest and nutrition. Make sure you are properly healed, this is so important! Ideally you need to work your muscles out every 3 days. The most you should work your body out is 2 upper body workouts and 2 lower body workouts per week.
2. Eat 5-7 Balanced Meals With Carbs, Proteins, And Fats
You need to eat at least 15-18 x your body weight. Carbs should be 45% of your intake, proteins should be about 35%, and fats about 20%. Try to eat as much whole food meals as possible. Liquid meal replacement shakes are good, but not as good as whole food meals.
3. Stretch At Least Half The Amount Of Time That You Lift Weights
No stretches when they train, why? Stretching helps the tissue restore to normal length. When you consistently train your muscle tissues shorten to perform weaker and slower which leads to injury. So if you lift 3 hours a week, try to stretch around 1.5 hours a week. This is a great way to prevent injury.
4. Avoid Supplements That Have Just Come Out
Try to stay away supplements that have not been around that long or have little or no research done on them. 99% of supplements are scams or gimmicks. You can build mass muscle without supplements. There are few that are highly recommended such as a high quality multi-vitamin, fish oil capsules, powdered creatine, and protein powder. Make sure your creatine comes from Creapure.
