What Mike Dillard claims Building On A Budget will do for you:
Mike Dillard's Claim:
Dillard's solution to a limited advertising Budget is to leverage the internet - with it's broad array of marketing platforms that range in cost and value... and have potential for world-wide exposure.
Goal: To explain the "Top 5 ways to generate tons of free traffic for < $500."
In Building On A Budget, Dillard explains 5 traffic methods and ties all the techniques together with a marketing strategy.
Let's see how well he does...
Part 1: "How To Turn Your Traffic Into Live, Exclusive Leads"
Building On A Budget Review part 1
Mike Dillard creates a fictional company to use as an example for all the marketing techniques that follow. In my opinion, this is a great idea... Now, you can use a similar strategy to market your opportunity. You can use Mike's examples as a template for your marketing.
Part 2: "How To Generate Free Traffic Using CraigsList.org"
Review of Mike Dillard's Building On A Budget Part 2
In this section, Mike takes you step-by-step through the process for creating CraigsList ads... Complete with screen shots of which settings to click and a couple example ads.He even teaches how to write ads that attract quality leads... not lazy, get-rich-quick duds.
My take:
Mike Dillard does a pretty good job explaining CraigsList advertising. I was hoping to learn some more advanced techniques... I was disappointed to learn he omitted advanced techniques from this resource.
Then, again Craigslist advertising works pretty well, so why complicate something that already does the job.
Part 3: "The Right Way To Get Free Traffic With Videos"
Building On A Budget Review part 3
He doesn't just tell you what to do, but he also tells you why you're doing it and what your goals are... so you can apply these concepts elsewhere in your marketing en devours.
I was impressed at this point. I have some experience with advertising on video websites, and Mike hit the nail on the head with this section.
Part 4: "How To Get Free Traffic And Top Search Engine Results With Press Releases"
Building On A Budget Review Part 4
This powerful traffic source is generally free or costs just pennies. It's highly targeted, unlike expensive newspaper ads.Mike Dillard claims to show you how to get results in as little as 72 hours from as little as 10 minutes worth of work.
While I agree your ads will get results in just a few days, I'd like to add a few cheviots to his bold claim.
1. Not all ads work, so always post a few press releases for a few different keywords. Sometimes you pick keywords that are effective, sometimes you don't... not a big deal, but you'll need to make a few press releases to ensure that you're generating traffic while you get the hang of it.
My take on it:
The content here is good. It's step-by-step and he even lists some of the best press release sites to get you started quick.
But remember, don't rely on 1 press release to get traffic flowing... post a few and you'll be all set.
Part 5: "How To Get Free Traffic And Top Search Engine Results With Blogs"
Review of Mike Dillard's Building On A Budget part 5
How to get quick traffic to your posts in 1-3 days. Plus, blogs double as a long-term asset (which have great page rank!).There is tons of information to get you well on your way to having a successful blog.
Mike Dillard covers any questions you might have about structural issues: like,
"how to choose a topic or theme for your blog",
"how to choose the right platform for your blog (like WordPress)", or
"how to set up and customize your blog".
He also covers content issues like
"how to write blog posts people will actually enjoy reading",
"writing with personality", and he gives some copywriting resources.
He even has a section of 25 ways to jump start traffic to your blog.
The blog section of Building On A Budget is really big... both physically, and from a traffic standpoint. There is tons of content here... Delivered in a really straightforward way.
Part 6: "Funded Proposals- How to Get Paid To Prospect, Even When People Don't Join Your Team!"
Building On A Budget Review part 6
Basically, with a "funded proposal" you use paid traffic, but you get the paid traffic to pay you... thus, reducing or totally eliminating your advertising costs.
Mike goes into detail on this one... and I don't want to steal his thunder... But I liked what I read.
Some of the stuff he covers is similar to his Free Magnetic Sponsoring Video Boot Camp, but in more detail.
I liked this chapter... this is what I strive for in my business.
