Why burn Soy Candles?

Ranked #9,310 in Home & Garden, #121,003 overall

Natural soy wax, is the best!

Soy wax is 100% vegetable wax made from the oil of soybeans with a creamy white appearance. After harvesting, the beans are cleaned, cracked, de-hulled, and rolled into flakes. The oil is then extracted from the flakes and hydrogenated. The hydrogenation process converts some of the fatty acids in the oil from unsaturated to saturated. This process dramatically alters the melting point of the oil, making it a solid at room temperature.

Soy candles produce less soot

Soot should be avoided because it is very unhealthy and can eventually coat furniture and walls.

Soy candles produce about 90% less soot than paraffin candles.

Soy wax is all-natural

Soy wax is a favorite of environmentally conscious people because it is not made from petroleum, like paraffin candles.
Burning of soy candles does not increase the CO2 level in the atmosphere.

Soy wax burns at a much cooler temperature than paraffin candles. This allows for a longer burn time. Cooler burn = longer burn time.
Here is a photo of soy candles I made.

Eco-friendly candles

Soy candles, are eco-friendly, renewable, American grown, sustainable, carbon neutral.

A well-made soy candle will burn clean and slower than a paraffin candle.

Soybean field

Helping American Farmers, in 2007, there were an estimated 250,000 acres of soybeans planted in Ohio, second largest in the U.S. next to Iowa.

Are you ready to make your first Soy candle?

There are many advantages to using soy wax in candle making. It is often less expensive than paraffin wax, and requires a lower melting temperature. The candles burn with less heat, and this distributes your fragrance stronger and more evenly. Also, it's really easy to clean up soy wax from your utensils using soap and hot water. Most important though is the fact that soy wax is made from soy bean oil, a natural and renewable resource.

Since soy wax is softer than paraffin wax, it works best as a container candle. These candles are very simple to make and the equipment you'll need can be found in your kitchen. Supplies are easily found at craft supply stores or online candle supply retailers.

My handpoured "Romantic Lights Soy Candles"

My soy candles are an all natural, biodegradable, and environmentally friendly resource.

A hand poured natural creamy, pastel gourmet.
Candles are premium, heavy/maximum scented with
high quality fragrance oils! Great scent throw.

Longer lasting burn time, and healthier.
All Natural Soy Wax. Burns time for an 8 ounce jar is 50-70 hours.

Trim your wick to 1/4 inch before each burn!
Allow your candle top to completely
liquefy before snuffing it out,
this will ensure an even burn every time.

Use a candle snuffer or a wick dipper to put out your candle's flame.
Do not blow your candles out, this causes smoke/soot buildup on your
container in all types of candles.
(I just put the lid on when I want my flame out.)

Compare soy wax candles to paraffin candles and see the benefits of soy candles.
Soy Candles emit soothing aromas of romance, and cozy comfort!

A lovely and lasting gift for all, because they think of you every time they smell the fragrance!

Be creative, use fire-safe containers to make fancy Soy candles!
