A Little About the Book...

So, there's definitely a lot of hype in the fitness sector about the Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle book. After doing research I decided it was worth writing an honest review for people to make up their own mind instead of being brainwashed by marketing techniques.

First off, this book has being getting a lot of reviews and has been claimed the best fitness book available on the market today. Being a fitness fanatic and amateur bodybuilder myself, I decided to put these claims to the test.

To Make Things Clear

Before I start I will say that it most definitely is possible to loose fat and build muscle at the same time. That's not saying it's typically easier to first concentrate on loosing fat and then slowly working into a full on fitness regime. The biggest concern that comes to mind when wanting to loose fat and build muscle at the same time is motivation and dedication. These two things are hard to come by in the fitness world so overcoming these problems is the key to being successful in the world of fitness. So let's see where this concept takes us...

So Now To the Review

Tom Venuto, the author of the book stresses the importance of some principles such as there are no quick fixes and that weight loss is not the same as fat loss. He also says that that the book is not just about fat loss but also about making people healthier. Added to what I pointed out above, Tom does stress the importance of goal setting, motivation and dedication and explains the various strategies to overcome them.

Being a fitness instructor myself I learnt and seen over and over again how certain programs fail purely due to the body type of the participant. Tailoring a training program for each individual is vitally important. Let me explain, an ectomorph (skinny, tall type) will need to concentrate on bulking up and less fat loss, an endomorph (increased fat storage) will need to work through diets and increase cardio training, etc. Another thing I love so far is that all this is explained early on in the book and once again he stresses the importance of following a tailored program. He actually works his programs around different body types so everyone can benefit.

So far so good, the guy clearly knows what he's talking about its just a matter of if he now claims to push the boundaries of the human form and make the impossible possible.

Tom Venuto and I are of essentially the same mind on the use of supplements and how this industry is very good at marketing many overpriced useless products with often little effects. I strictly stand by protein, creatine and a few other natural supplements but avoid anything else. Any book stating fat loss through strange diets are most likely a scam so bear this in mind.

On to cardio training and we all know how important exercise is in losing weight and the diet that has been created in Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle is definitely geared toward having both cardio and weight training as an essential part of the package. I have never seen a diet that did not at least mention exercise but this book stresses it as a very important part of the equation and many other diets would do their followers more justice by stressing exercise more.

When it comes to weight training Tom Venuto covers the exercises that you should do to gain strength and muscle as easily as possible and goes into a lot of detail with tactics that you will probably have never seen before. There are hundreds of various systems and ways of muscle training around. Combining them correctly will destroy anyone else in the gym within weeks and make them look weak in comparison.

The Finale

What route do I think you should follow?

That concludes the overall elements I wanted to point out. The book actually agrees with far more than I initially expected which for me is unusual.

I'm not here to force you into buying anything so for that reason as a fitness instructor myself, I will give you the advice that if you have the money, find a personal trainer. Like I said before, fitness is different for everyone... and results will vary with everyone. For the best results a personal trainer will always be best as he/she should tailor everything specifically for you.

If you want the cheap option the Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle book would be the best route to go down. It will definitely give you faster results than by setting your own rules but being a book its impossible to tailor any program 100% towards everyone on the globe. Saying that its better than any "similar" books on the market and is actually the first book I would recommend to a client.

If you want to go this route you can click here to visit the burn the fat site.

Thanks for reading, I hope you found my advice and review useful. Good luck with whichever route you decide to follow.
