Making Simple Jewellry Using Buttons
Ideas and Projects for Spare Buttons
For a simple necklace choose a thin black leather cord or the color of your choice. This can be purchase at a craft or sewing store. Choose about 8 - 10 buttons of co-ordinating sizes and colors and string the buttons onto the leather cord. Leave ends long enough to make a simple bow to tie. Be as unique and creative as you like with your choice of buttons. Sometimes just 2 or 3 buttons can make a great fashion statement!
To make a pair of earrings use stud findings, either purchased or from an old pair of earrings that you no longer use. Earring findings can also be purchased at craft stores. Choose either a single button or 2 or 3 small buttons to group together. One color or mix the colors up for a unique look. Using a hot glue gun or liquid glue, carefully glue buttons to stud findings. Just get creative and you will soon have some one of a kind earrings!

A picture frame can also take on a new look just by some simple decorating touches. Adding baby themed buttons in soft or primary colors to a picture frame, would be perfect in a nursery. Try some sport themed buttons to enhance a frame for a child's soccer or softball photo. Just use your imagination and you'll have a great one of a kind project.

- Great ideas! I used to play with the button box, too! I was fascinated by the video re how to sew on a button. I remember learning that very very young. It's hard to imagine anyone making a video of something like that, but it was clear! And I guess young girls don't learn that anymore. I wonder if I taught my daughter how to sew on a button? I think I will call and ask her! Super lens!

- I've always loved buttons - I have jars of them - many antiques. My younger daughter is totally obsessed with buttons and beads. She crafts and sews with her buttons, collects rare buttons, loves to find a box or jar of buttons at yard sales and flea markets.
