This is the decade of the tablets. Leading the parade is Apple's iPad. Following closely behind is BlackBerry's Playbook. Starting early 2011, you will be able to buy Blackberry PlayBook online as well as many retail stores.

The Canadian developer of the BlackBerry Smartphone, Reseach In Motion Limited (RIM) announced the lauch of the BlackBerry Playbook on September 27, 2010 at the San Fransisco BlacBerry developer conference.

The BlackBerry PlayBook will weigh less than the iPad as well as have smaller dimensions (2-3 inches both sides). It will also have 2 forward (3 megapixels) and back-facing cameras (5 megapixels, MP) capable of recording HD videos. The BlackBerry PlayBook will also support Adobe Flash, which will be something that will attract a lot of iPad-shunners.

After a demonstration of a working iPad in late October, reports are suggesting RIM will be releasing the BlackBerry PlayBook in March 2011.

UPDATE: Canadians will be able to buy the Playbook at Staples from April 15th, this according to their website.
