The Beatles' entire back catalogue was repackaged following an extensive digital re-mastering process that took over four years to complete. On September 9, 2009 the Beatles Stereo Box Set edition of all twelve original UK studio albums, along with a collective two-CD set of Past Masters and Magical Mystery Tour, were released on compact disc both individually and as a box set. There is also another collection which included all mono tracks but we live in the age of stereo and the Beatles sound so much better in stereo.

The re-mastered Beatles Stereo Box version contains a sixteen disc collection of every album in the Beatles catalogue. Though some songs can be heard on CD in stereo through various compilations, the first four albums are making their CD debut in stereo. Help! and Rubber Soul use the 1987 remixes arranged by George Martin for the original CD releases. Different to the UK six-song EP, Magical Mystery Tour is presented in the sequence and artwork of its original North American album release.

Yellow Submarine is nice as its presented in its original arrangement and not the 1999 Song track version. All CDs copy their original album labels as first released, from the various Parlophone Records variations, to the Capitol Records label and the UK Apple Records label from The Beatles through Let It Be. Each of the albums except Past Masters includes a mini-documentary, mainly drawing from The Beatles Anthology, about each album in QuickTime format. The Beatles and Past Masters are two-CD sets.

A review by Danny Eccleston from Mojo Magazine wrote, "Ever since The Beatles first emerged on CD in 1987, there have been complaints about the sound, saying that the original vinyl has had significant advantages over the CDs in clarity and dynamism. Compare Paperback Writer/Rain on crackly 45, with its weedy Past Masters CD version, and the case is closed." However, before the release of the 2009 re-masters, Abbey Road Studios had invited Mojo reviewers to hear a sample of the four-year work's achievement, telling the magazine, "You're in for a shock." In his release-day evaluation of the full product, Eccleston described the Beatles Stereo Box Set as "brilliant, that's still how it feels a month later". For a limited time after the release date, a short documentary was included on each CD album.

March 22, 1963 - The album "Please Please Me" is released in the U.K. and becomes a smash hit. Once hitting number one and it stays there for 29 weeks.

February 9, 1964 - The Beatles perform on The Ed Sullivan Show and are watched by a record-setting 73 million people. They performed five songs: All My Loving, Till There Was You, She Loves You, I Saw Her Standing There and I Want To Hold Your Hand.

January 30, 1969 - The Beatles play on stage together for the last time live, on the roof of Apple's London office.
