Jesus, Teach me how to pray
Kids today need Christ more than ever before. More and more the world is turning to things outside the church for fun and help. I suppose to the average person it appears that they can do just fine without God, but if we pay attention we'll discover that the upward trend of the decay we see in society seems to be in direct correlation with the decline in numbers of those who attend church regularly and call themselves followers of Jesus Christ. To turn this around, we need to get back to the basics. This curriculum is designed to do just that. It's purpose is to give children an entire year of a few of the standard teachings of the faith: The Lord's Prayer, The 10 Commandments and the 23rd Psalm with opportunities to help them understand salvation sprinkled in.
For Lent - I'm planning to write a few of these lesson specifically geared toward lent. They aren't quite ready yet, but if you'd like a sample of one when it's ready, just fill out the form from the link below or visit my webpage and sign up. As soon as it's ready, I'll send you a sample with all the details how you can get the lenten children's series.

- Just got this critique from one of the first churches using the curriculum:
Our teachers last week gave a big thumbs up for lesson one. We will test drive lesson two tomorrow. For tomorrow we will be changing the craft, but only because we made foam doorhangers a month ago as an extra activity.
Thanks to mamapaquito for the feedback!

- Hi Lynne,
I liked your sample lesson very much for the following reasons:
1. It fits our teaching style and approach.
2. Easy for us to "own" it. Some times other peoples curriculum is difficult to present from our own hearts.
3. I love how relational it is from the start. Our goal is to bring the kids into a personal, intimate relationship w/ God.
4. It seems to be about the right amount of material for one lesson. We haven't actually presented it yet.
5. We really appreciate your suggestions for crafts, illustrations, games, etc.
6. Love the lyrics and hand signs for Jesus loves me. You've set yourself high standards for the future.
7. Excited that you are developing seasonal lessons.
8. Like the way you are taking your time to thoroughly cover the subject.
I'm not sure if it will leave enough time for music worship time, our kids go to Kids' Cafe before we get them, so can let you know about how long it takes us to cover the lesson. Also it would help if you explained a little more how to use the prayer box. Are you thinking the kids will use it at home by writing out prayers and putting them in the box?

- This sounds great, Lynne....plus, no DVD for Leslie and me to mess up every time! It's a good idea for us go through this stuff and to explain it to the kids.
