2 Peter 1:16 "We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty."

If some one asked you why you believe the bible over other religious books, what would you say? Well before I started leading the FBC Kyle Men's Ministry Bible study call "The Ever Loving Truth" by Voddie Baucham Jr. my responds would be a lot like other Christian these days.

I believe the Bible because - it is the Living word of GOD or - God spoke through men in order to help us guild us during our walk with him.

However a much better responds would be The Bible is a reliable collection of historical documents written by eyewitnesses during the lifetime of other eyewitnesses. As Peter writes here in verse 16 these things are not made up stories but actual events that they eyewitness saw for them self.

When there is an accident the police look for eyewitnesses because they can testify to what happen. Thus we can trust what the bible says because those that were there are the ones that wrote the scripture.
