Welcome!

Continuing with our fishing leader boards posted in 2009, 2010, and 2011, welcome to 2012's COAF Fishing Leader Board. We invite readers to send pictures of fish caught in community lakes and ponds in the cities of Allen, Plano, Frisco, and Mckinney.

We intend to post the top 3 Bass, Catfish, and Bluegill/Sunfish caught by area fishermen in 2012. Criteria for submitting a fish are the same as posted in years past. For more details, see the guidelines posted below. Also, do check out last year's Fishing Leader Board !

We hope you enjoy this site and Good Luck and Good Fishing!

PS: Be sure to submit pictures to the One Fishing Fly Challenge for fish caught using fishing flies! See link - One Fishing Fly Challenge for more details!

Criteria for Submitting a Fish

General Guidelines

Our intent is to provide simple guidelines to submit photos. To reiterate, this effort is strictly volunteer, there are no prizes, and the honor system is critical!

General guidelines for submitting a fish are listed below.

  1. Fish must be caught this year - 2012.
  2. Fish must be caught in community lakes and ponds in the cities of Allen, Plano, Frisco, and Mckinney.
  3. Fish must meet the minimum length requirement for a given fish. Photo should include a measuring device that clearly shows the length.
  4. If the photo cannot be viewed or the measuring device is unreadable, photo will not be posted.
  5. Note: A dollar bill as a unit of measurement is supported. If not available, a hand will suffice. Other entries that have a measuring device will have precedence.

To submit a photo, email COAF.Weblog@Live.Com and indicate "Attn: Fishing Leader Board Photo" in the subject line. We require the comment in the subject line as it minimizes spam emails and allows us to determine valid email submissions. Also, in the email include:

  1. The fish's length as measured using Texas Parks and Wildlife guidelines.
  2. The city and community lake or pond where the fish was caught.
  3. The date the fish was caught.
  4. Username you wish to be identified as, no last names and/or profanity.

Administrative Comments.

  1. Submittal of photos indicates the sender's consent to post the picture on this website.
  2. After submittal, check the leader board on a periodic basis as we are unable to provide receipt confirmation of a photo.
  3. In addition, be sure to save the original photo as will be unable to return them back to the sender.

Powerbait Trout Bait

Trout Bait Rainbow

Powerbait remains a consistent producer for Trout for the Field Team! This past season (2011) we found that the Rainbow variety seemed to be the preferred choice in several outings to our local stocked ponds. Give it a try and see if it holds true in your area.
