I just had a visit from Jennifer, with the Louisiana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

She came out because I called a few days ago to report 3 stray pit bulls in my yard.
They were only tourists; they live in the area and probably have owners.

I see way too many animals roaming without tags and under no supervision-just like the kids running around in the streets.

New Orleans has far too few places for kids and animals to safely spend the summer.

Since Sneakers (pictured hiding behind the empty box), Ciao and Bella (they haven't let me close enough to take a pic yet) have taken up residence on the property, I had to take steps to keep dogs out.

The fence guy is coming this week.

Cali kept us together when finally hurricane katrina's damage had cut too deeply a wound that seemed unable to ever heal.

So, one day God sent Cali to the garden.

The Northridge earthquake occurred on January 17, 1994 at 4:31 AM Pacific Standard Time in Reseda, a neighborhood in the city of Los Angeles, California, lasting for about 20 seconds.[1] The earthquake had a "strong" moment magnitude of 6.7, but the ground acceleration was one of the highest ever instrumentally recorded in an urban area in North America.[2] Seventy-two deaths were attributed to the earthquake, with over 9,000 injured. In addition, the earthquake caused an estimated $20 billion in damage, making it one of the costliest natural disasters in U.S. history.[3]
