California Solar Rebates- CSI
The California Solar Initiative, also known as CSI, is part of a campaign in the state to get more Californians to begin utilizing more solar power for their homes and businesses. For over a decade now California has been offering these energy rebates to residents who choose to install solar energy options on their homes. However, there are still many in the state that do not know about these rebates or simply do not understand them. But the idea is catching on and gaining steam in California. Many more people are ready to do what it takes to go green and lower their utility bills.

California Solar Rebates- Governor Schwarzenegger Gets Involved
Governor Schwarzenegger decided to get involved with the campaign to power California with solar energy in 2004. In that year, he announced his Million Solar Roofs Program. The program hopes to provide 3,000 megawatts of energy for California. That would be 3,000 megawatts of clean, environmentally friendly energy. If the plan succeeds, it would drastically reduce greenhouse gasses in the state to an amount roughly equivalent to removing a million vehicles off the California roads. That is a huge reduction in greenhouse gasses and the state is hopeful about the governor's plans.
How Do The California Solar Rebates Work?
System size, customer class, performance and installation all have an impact on the rebate. The volume of solar megawatts that are confirmed by each utility service impact the automatic stepped decline of the subsidies. Huh? Basically, anyone who has a solar system of less than 50KW can get an up front cash rebate. However, you will need to apply for it. Payment will not be received until the new solar system is completely installed and connected with the existing utilities.
