Candle Gift Ideas for Valentine's Day

Everyone loves candles! What better way to let that special person how much they mean to you than through the gift of candles. This lens explores all the possible gift ideas you can give with candles. A candle is more than just a candle.

Let's face it, Valentines Day and candles go together like romance and chocolate! This holiday was MADE for candles! So here's some ideas, have fun and I'm sure you will have a terrific Valentine's Day!

Your candle gift can awaken your lover's senses. Candles set a romantic mood and can encourage relaxation and reflection.

There are so many unique and fun ways to package candles during this holiday. So, let's explore all the possibilities candles give for your Valentine's gift giving this year.

Valentine's Day Gift Scent Ideas

There are so many fragrances that are PERFECT for Valentine's Day.

For the chocolate lovers, instead of giving candy, or, in addition to, how about "Chocolate Kiss", or "Peppermint Truffle" which smells just like the ANDES chocolate dinner mints! This is also a perfect alternative for the chocolate lover that has made the New Year resolution to lose weight! Your gift recipient will want to reach for a spoon instead of match...but this is a gift that has NO calories, just the delicious, decadent fragrance!

Some of the other fragrances that are perfect to purchase for Valentine's Day are:

Angel Wings

Antique Lace & Linen

Chocolate Kiss

Cinnamon

Forbidden Fruit

French Lavender

French Vanilla

Gardenia

Heart of the Ocean

Lilac

Sangria

Sex On The Beach

Men love candles, too! For the man in your life, choose one of these masculine fragrances:

Texas Cedarwood

Patchouli Spice

Sandalwood

Of course, there are many other fragrances, but these are fragrances that specifically go with the theme of Valentine's Day.

For a complete list of fragrances, you can see the list here.

Jar Candle Gifts

The key is to "gift wrap" or dress your candles up for the Valentine's Day holiday. Just simpl giving a jar candle can be the perfect Valentine's Day gift. I would recommend getting some tissue paper appropriate for the holiday, it could be red and white colored tissue paper, or white with red hearts, or red with a beautiful pink or white bow (you get the idea, right?) Then you cut a square of the tissue paper, center the jar candle in the middle of the tissue, (note: if you are doing red AND white or contrasting colors for drama, just stagger the corners instead of lining them up. Put one color down and then stagger the other one when you lay it on top of the first color) then when you smooth the tissue up around the sides of the jar you will have a ribbon ready to tie it into place around the neck of the jar. After you have the ribbon tied and bowed to secure it, just fluff the tissue paper ends that will bloom around the top of the jar like a flower.

Use a hole punch and attach a gift tag to this ribbon before you tie it into a bow to finish the gift presentation. Voila! You have a beautiful gift wrapped jar candle that is sure to appeal to your Valentine.

I've discovered a cleaner burning gourmet candle. It burns practically soot free and comes in nearly 100 different fragrances. You can learn more about these awesome performing candles here.

Votive Candle Gifts

Votive candles are also a great choice for a candle gift on Valentine's Day. You can package the votives in a grouping along with decorative votive holders or individually.

How about making scented, candle votive roses? You've never heard of a votive rose? These are always a hit because they are a perfect keepsake flower that will not wilt. They are a wonderful gift for an office or co-worker because they can be put in a bud vase and kept on their desk. The votive roses will smell and look wonderful for as long as they are kept there.

Cinnamon Bun Candle Gifts

Have you evern seen the cute candles that are shaped and smell like home baked cinnamon buns? They are a really cute idea for Valentine's gifts. You could wrap the cinnamon bun candles in cello and a ribbon and then put a cute gift tag on it. You could be creative and make up a saying to put on the gift tag -- maybe something like: "A Sweet Gift for My "Honey Bun" or "You're As Sweet As A Honey Bun". Be creative!

Pie Candle Gifts

Another "sweet" candle gift idea for Valentine's Day would be the realistic pie shaped candles.

You could give an Apple Pie and put a gift tag on it that says something like "Valentine, you are the apple of my eye..."

Maybe your Valentine likes chocolate. How about giving them a Chocolate Dreams Pie and put a gift tag on it that says something like "Sweet Chocolate Dreams...Valentine".

Other varieties of the pies are Cherry Pie, Key Lime Pie, Pumpkin Pie, and Strawberry Cream Pie.

Melter Pot & Melts Gift

Melter/simmer pots are also an option as a gift for the office. With the melter pots, there are no open flames. The melts are warmed with a light bulb so they can also be used in an office during the work hours. These can be packaged beautifully by placing he melter pot with a bag of melts in a decorative piece of cello and tied with a beautiful ribbon and gift card.

Bath & Body Gifts

Bath and body sets are also a great gift for Valentine's Day. You could pair a bar soap and balm with a candle for a beautiful gift set.

It's really all in the presentation. Place the items in a beautiful basket along with some basket confetti, pretty cello wrap and ribbon.

Valentine's Day Gift Basket Ideas

Gift baskets make great Valentine gift ideas.

Use your imagination, there are so many fun ways to package a romantic gift set other than using traditional baskets.

Choose a unique containers for your gift basket. You could choose a picnic basket with a Sangria jar candle, a couple of wine glasses, some cheese, and crackers, etc.

Or how about a big ceramic pop corn bowl with pop corn packages, wine glasses, a romantic DVD movie, and a jar candle in your valentine's favorite scent. Attach a note that says something about having a romantic movie night etc.

Why not make a his and her bath set with a candle in a his and her fragrance. Or, to switch it up, you could include a melter pot with some melts in a variety of fragrances

A his and hers bath set might be a large basket to double as a waste basket or towel basket for the bathroom, roll up some contrasting colored towels and wash cloths then nestle your jar candle his and hers fragrances or melter pot in the towels with his and hers bath bars and a tube of our balm.
