Do single-leg calf raises. Sit down with your feet pressed flat against the ground. Grip a dumbbell in your right hand and place it on your right knee. Raise the heel of your foot while leaving the balls of your feet on the ground, hold for 3 seconds, then lower it. Do 15 repetitions, then repeat on the left side.
Stand up straight with your legs placed shoulder-width apart. Hold a dumbbell in each hand with your arms at either side. Bend your elbows slightly. Flex your calf muscles and raise your heels off the ground with the balls of your feet still on the ground. Hold this position for about 5 seconds, then release. Do 15 reps
Do a dumbbell leg raise. Place the dumbbell on the floor and, while holding on to something to keep your balance, place your right foot onto the dumbbell bar (the part between the two circular ends). Raise your left foot off the floor at least an inch while keeping your right foot on the dumbbell bar. Now raise your right heel while standing on the bar, hold for 3 seconds, then lower it. The dumbbell may move back and forth, but struggling to keep your balance will also help to tone your calves. Do 15 reps, then switch legs.
