Does the Canon EOS T1i Rebel Live Up to Its Hype?

There are a lot of cameras on the market for you to choose from.  When you are choosing where to spend your hard earned money, its important to match what you are needing to do with your camera, with what the camera has to offer.  Here we are going to take a look at the popular Canon EOS T1i Rebel.  Does is deliver on its promise of providing quality, high resolution pictures you can be proud of?

The Canon Rebel T1i EOS offers some interesting features that definetly makes it worth a look.  Starting with a new 15.1 Megapixel CMOS sensor that ensures full rich images.  Combine the 15.1 Megapixel CMOS with a new DIGIC 4 Image Processor and you will find the EOS T1i Rebel Digital camera can quickly capture and process stunning images even in low light situations.

Canon's T1i Rebel camera also offers a unique 3.0-inch Clear View LCD screen that allows you to accuratley frame your shots.  The view screen is far more detailed than any of the previous Rebel camera's, coming in at an amazing 920,000 dots/VGA for nice clear image previewing.

Another great feature offered by the Rebel T1i Digital is it's ability to shoot HD video.  At 720p, you can record your video at a fast and acceptable 30 frames per second.  One complaint, however, with the T1i's HD video is that at 1080p, the frames per second drops to 20.  So if video is a huge concern than you may want to consider an actual video camera, but for most still camera enthusiasts, the HD video capabilities is a nice bonus, but not a primary concern.

As mentioned above, the EOS T1i Rebel camera excels in low light situations.  This is made possible by Canon's implementation of an Auto Lighting Optimizer which lightens dark areas of a scene without having a detrimental effect on the tonal detail.  In addition to the Lighting Optimizer is the wide range of ISO settings that you can change on the fly.  ISO goes from 100 to 3200, although there have been reports that it gets a little noisey up around 1600.

Should you get this camera?  Well, as mentioned in the first paragraph, you really have to asses your needs first.  Like with any camera there are pros and cons and supporters and detractors.

The overwhelming consensus is that this is a great camera you will be happy to own. If, however, your main interest is shooting HD Video then you'll probably be happier looking elsewhere.  On the other hand, if you are looking for a high quality, professional camera that offers low light shooting capabilities, a wide range of ISO settings, a Clear View LCD screen and  decent, if not perfect, HD Video capabilities then you will be ecstatic with the Canon EOS T1i Rebel.
