Superior Squad Superhero from Bongo Comics
I know that a lot of people use computers for personal networking (as opposed to computer networking, which is another topic.) Accordingly, a lot of attention is paid to avatars and biographies.
My primary focus as a webmaster is to generate enough income to quit my day job, and thus have time to devote to personal projects. As a retailer, I'm not so interested in presenting my personal views as I am in trying to put product links in front of people who might be interested in them.
My Avatar & Bio

Aside from an occasional rant against fascism, the "religious" right, and anti-environmentalism, I usually manage to stay pretty neutral. I'm currently using the avatar seen here, which is one of the stock choices at the Amazon associates website.
Along with it's revealing biographical information ("cubistic."), this is currently my trademark, my brand. It is meant to convey a sort of beatnik minimalism. It isn't too terrible, but it's an "inside joke" I'm afraid is lost on most people. Needs work.
Addendum:
As of this posting (14 MAY 06) this innocuous "fun" page has recieved a total of 12 visitors, one of whom felt compelled to give it a one-star rating. Perhaps we didn't kill enough dolphins to suit them. Who knows? Anyway, I think my point about keeping a low profile is made.
The Simpsons Connection
I wrote a Lens on Classics Illustrated Comics, mostly because it refers to one of the "value-added" features of my book store, and I thought it would be fun to include a few surly remarks from "Comic Book Guy." In the course of writing that lens, I learned a lot about copyright infringement, but more importantly, about Bongo Comics and Captain Squid.
Radioactive Man
Radioactive Man first appeared in a Simpson's episode, Three Men and a Comic Book, and again in Radioactive Man.
Bongo Comics was founded in 1993 by Matt Groening, Bill Morrison, and Steve & Cindy Vance. They publish the "real" Radioactive Man comics
Captain Squid Origins
Captain Squid may or may not have first appeared in Captain Squid #1 (1939) a comic which may or may not have been published by Bongo, but certainly not in 1939.
Usually reliable sources insist that Captain Squid first appeared in Radioactive Man in his capacity as part of the Superior Squad. Pesonally, I'm still searching for that extremely rare Captain Squid #1
The Real Captain Squid

I've never quite been sure what distinguishes a blog from a regular webpage. Timeliness seems to have something to do with it, but that doesn't seem to be a hard and fast rule.
Anyway, here are some of the things I've been working on lately...
