Carman Biography
Carman was born in New Jersey where he grew up in an Italian home full of music and laughter. As a boy, Carman played the drums and the guitar, and he began singing in his teenage years. As his career developed, Carman played clubs then went on to Las Vegas. It was after seeing an "Andrae Crouch" concert that Carman gave his life to Jesus Christ and embraced his newfound faith in the living Savior. After five years of ministerial preparation, he moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he began to develop his ministry headquarters for a worldwide outreach.

During the next two decades Carman changed the face of Christian music and evolved contemporary evangelism into what it is today. Carman established "Carman World Outreach," a non-profit organization that helps touch the lives of literally millions of people worldwide. Billboard Magazine recognized Carman's influence in Christian music by first naming him "Contemporary Christian Artist of the Year" in 1990. He has received numerous gold and platinum albums and videos. Even with all this success, the heartbeat of this Champion for Christ continues to beat strong for the souls of people who need Jesus. As an outflow of this passion, Carman had more than 50,000 people attend his "Music for Peace" crusade in Johannesburg, South Africa. These numbers topped the charts as his largest concert crusade ever, until more than 70,000 people packed the legendary Texas Stadium, making it the largest Christian concert ever in history. The heart of a champion phenomenon is Carmans new God-given multi-level vision to reach this generation for God. This vision includes a novel, movie, double CD and world tour. The vision combines a synergetic force of a multi-media experience, while sending the message of the Gospel to the heart of millions.

For over 26 years, Carman has entertained, encouraged and preached the Gospel to millions-crossing denominational, cultural and ethnic lines. During this time, he has never compromised the call to take the Gospel to every person. This vision still remains the hallmark of his life and ministry.

Releases First Action adventure Novel nationally by a Christian Music artist: "Undefeated: In Love and War"

Appears on The Bobby Jones Gospel Hour and Breaks the record for the highest rated and watched Gospel TV show on BET network TV in 20 years.

Becomes the first Christian Artist to consistently host the nationally televised TBN program during evening prime-time.

The first Christian artist to receive a coveted spot in the "Parade of Champions" at the Boxing hall of fame in Canastota, New York

In February 2004,Carman was presented the prestigious HUMANITARIAN AWARD, from the House of Hope. Previous House of Hope Humanitarian Award Recipients include: President and Mrs. Reagan, Dr. Billy Graham, Dr. Pat Robertson, Governor Jeb Bush, Sheila Walsh, Drs. Each year House of Hope presents the Humanitarian Award to someone they believe to be a strong Christian example and a positive role model for our young people and their families.

2003

Releases first Novel Audio Book on tape by a Christian artist. "The Champion" Doing all the voices, narration and Characterizations himself.

2001

March: major theatrical nationwide release of the movie "Carman: The Champion"
"Carman: The Champion" became the longest theatrical run in theaters for a Christian movie.
Carman headlines first Christian night at the "RiverBend Festival" in Chattanooga Tennessee. Sets record for the largest "solo" outdoor Christian concert. 80,000 plus in attendance.

2000

Carman aired, on national television, his "Halloween 3:16" special, on the evening of October 31st. "A nationwide altar call was given on the most evil night of the year", over 70,000 first time decisions were recorded before the phone lines jammed up. 100,000 people were believed to have come to know Christ in that one night alone.
During the "Heart of a Champion Tour" Carman had the largest Christian tour with an overwhelming response of 900,000 people.
