When I used to live in Omaha, Nebraska I lived on the very edge of a historic district. I'd go for walks and runs through the old historic area where the huge historic homes had actual carriage houses, which many years ago were part stable, part workspace, and part carriage storage. Many of these historic carriage houses had living space above them and were rented out to college kids. I was always envious of the lucky renter who was fortunate enough to snag one of these rare living quarters.
But a carriage house in today's terms might be a new construction guest house, or garage with living space above it. With this in mind, most people who are searching for carriage house garage doors, don't actually have an old historic carriage house, but rather they are styling their custom home's garage to look like an old carriage house. Or they simply need a new garage door and love the look and feel of the carriage house garage doors.
Also, many new construction builders in certain subdivisions even offer an option for homeowner's to have a detached garage carriage house style, with an apartment above the garage. This is a modern day carriage house. My husband actually rented a 1 bedroom carriage house apartment while he was on a 6 month work assignment in Austin, Texas. It was in the Mueller Park urban development which was developed by the old Mueller Airport. Many of the new homes had this option, a carriage house garage, with a 1 bedroom apartment above the detached garage. It was perfect for him, much better than living in a hotel room for 6 months!

- Either in case of fire, Fireplace doors are put in to minimise the spread of fireside and smoke in hearth accidents. A lot of the hearth doors are routinely operated both by heat activated mechanisms or by smoke detecting. internal doors
