    Avatars vs photos is an interesting issue... for the longest I kind of "hid" behind a cartoon avatar. But it's nice to show a real face too.

    This is great. I enjoyed seeing the evolution of your avatars. It seems the choices are limitless these days. I may have to jazz up my current avatar. My renaissance "Mona" is looking a bit dated (but then she is what... 532 years old?). She's holding up pretty well, I'd say. ;-)

    I have often thought about using an avatar but as of yet have not got round to it. We have always had a logo, mainly to promote our business as it can be quite recognisable and partly because we are both a bit shy. I think we might build an avatar, these are brilliant. Great lens.

    This is really a fun lens! It is great to use an avatar as a profile picture because it catches attention and it allows the writer to be remembered by most of its readers. 5*

    I really enjoyed this lens! I loved seeing all your different avatars along with sites from where we can also have cartoon versions of ourselves made. My avatar is self-drawn and I've been using it because it represents me and my kitty perfectly (; *blessed by an angel*

    Well, I MAY create an avatar as an additional image in my lenses somewhere, especially "about me" lenses. It would satisfy my need for others to see the "real" me while allowing me to have fun, too.

    I use Yahoo and am really happy with my Avatar, although it has taken me a year to find out how to use it on other websites - basically cutting and pasting the HTML code rather than the picture itself.
    If you want to see it, go to my lens
    http://www.squidoo.com/computer_problems-an_occasional_journal and you will see me peering out at you, Avatar-style.

    This is a cool lens - I used to use an avatar, but last year I started using this photo instead on some of my online social networks. Have you seen Gravatar? I see it listed on blogs often. I believe it's an online avatar that will work across several platforms.

    I actually kinda like your flame. It's more unique even than the cartoon avatars, which are all cute and charming in their own unique ways, but I like to be different. Thanks for including my Squidoo Somebody lens, which does have an avatar poll, just a simple one. I enjoyed the lens!
