What is Cash Gifting?

First, let's take a look at the definition:

Cash Gifting is just that... the gifting of cash. An individual gives a cash gift to another individual. This is done in the same manner as when you give someone a cash gift on a special occasion like a wedding, birthday, promotion, graduation or around the holidays.

This activity does not involve network marketing, multi-level marketing, or a business or commercial activity.

This is perhaps why so many people have chosen to join these programs. Cash Gifting programs are not the typical online "get rich quick" scams, as they are genuine and effective.

There are no business transactions, investments and/or securities involved in this activity. There are no directors, officers, shareholders or principals. Individuals simply support each other in a team concept and help change lives.

How Does Cash Gifting Work?

This activity is offered usually by means of a one-to-one invitation. When someone accepts the invitation, they move through a natural progression from the giving to the receiving stage of the activity. In this activity, there is no fixed hierarchy of individuals who have an advantageous position or unfair advantage over new participants.

To become a member of a cash gifting activity, you must send your inviter a cash gift in the amount of the level you are participating in. Most programs will require you to pay an admin fee before you can join. The admin fee can either be on a monthly basis or a one-time yearly fee.

You will be given an enrollment ID or Member number by the admin to distinguish you from other members in the activity. This will also put you in a position to receive your tracking system to keep track of all the gifts you are going to receive or have received.

Once you are a member, you will be qualified at the level of gift you gave. Which means, if you invite someone else into the activity, you can only receive the gift amount for the level you are at and anything left over goes to the next qualifying member at that level. These gifting levels can range anywhere from $150 all the way up to $10,000.

NOTE: Do not join a program that just takes your money and does not give you a reference/member ID number to show that you are a participant in their program. This reference/member ID is how you are able to distinguish yourself from other members.

Why Do Some Gifting Activities Fail?

The number one reason why most gifting activities fail is due to the way they are structured. They do not have a proper tracking system set up for you to keep track of the gifts you are receiving from one another. They do not offer any proper documentation to protect you legally from the transference of cash gifts.

You also want to make sure the gifting activity offers some sort of assistance for those that are new to Cash Gifting or online marketing and are unsure of how to market or promote. The good gifting programs offer tools and training teaching you how to be effective with online and offline marketing.

The giving of Cash Gifts to one another is basically an expression of kindness, which has been going on for centuries. Governments have allowed this practice for individuals to share their wealth with whomever they chose. It has been a means of helping and blessing others on special occasions or when the need arises.

Most cultures gives gifts as a matter of course. Asian, Jewish and South American communities gift individuals within their culture on a regular basis so that they may start a business or buy a home. They in turn gift someone else to help enhance their lives.

Is cash gifting legal?

This may be the number one question that people ask when considering joining cash gifting. It certainly was mine when I considered joining... after all, you do not want to get into any hot water legally, and I most certainly don't.

While doing some research online into cash gifting, this is what I discovered. But keep in mind, there is no universal guide to tell us that cash gifting is illegal.

If you decide to do your own research on the Internet, you will find that there is nothing stating that cash gifting is illegal. What you may come across is other individuals expressing their own personal views and opinions and not the actual facts. And after months and months of research, not one person has been able to point me to any real black and white evidence showing me that cash gifting is not legal.

As a matter of fact, I discovered that both Canadian and American citizens have the right to gift cash, property and other assets.

In the United States, we have the Constitutional Right as citizens to earn money and give away our own property and cash, for as long as it's done properly (according to the codes and laws) laid out. The United States rules on cash gifting can be found in the Tax Code of The IRS, Title 26, Sections 2501-2504 and 2511.

As of 2008, in the USA, the rules state that one or more people can give cash gifts to another person up to the amount of $12,000 in a calendar year without any tax consequences to either the receiver or the giver of the cash gift.

I also discovered that most properly structured Cash Gifting activities require their participants to use a Gifting Statement as well as a Non-Solicitation agreement, which becomes a binding document when signed by two private individuals. It's said, the forms are used to ensure the longevity and legality of the cash gifting program.

So the exchanging of gifts between friends, family or anyone participating in the activity is ok to do according to the IRS Tax Code. Like I said earlier, there is no specific law nationwide that I was able to find to say that cash gifting was illegal.

Now keep in mind, it's very important to know that not every cash gifting activity is structured properly. Unfortunately there still may be a few cash gifting programs lingering around out there that were never structured properly in the first place. And this is where the term "Illegal Pyramid Scheme" comes from.

Most of these programs are not online and can be found mostly offline. A majority of these programs have been closed down by the Feds due to their illegal pyramid structure. And unfortunately these programs have given cash gifting a bad rap.

The good thing is that in recent years, cash gifting activities have changed for the good and this provides people a chance to benefit from the use of this type of program.

With the leveraging power of the Internet and Web 2.0, cash gifting has become one of the most prominent vehicles used today for the development of sustainable income for individuals worldwide.

Is Cash Gifting A Pyramid Scheme?

No, this is not a pyramid scheme. A pyramid is associated with a company or a business. Cash Gifting activities are not companies, they are just a private sharing club. There are no sales quotas, they do not sell positions and they do not have an ever-widening base to the structure, which just keeps going and going.

A pyramid never allows anyone coming in on the bottom to ever reach the top. Everyone gives the same gifts, works together in team dynamics and receives the same gift. In a pyramid, only those at the top profit while those at the bottom never reach the top. In a pyramid, people can and have lost their money.

A pyramid is also not to be confused with "Network Marketing". Although Network Marketing is a legal and viable source of income.

Quick question... when was the last time you, or anyone you know, were able to start at the bottom of the company and reach the very top position in the company? That RARELY happens. Cash Gifting is neither a company nor a pyramid scheme.

How Do I Join A Cash Gifting Program?

In most cases, in order to join a Cash Gifting activity, you have to get invited by someone who is a current member, also known as an "Inviter or Host." Your Inviter/Host will help you complete the sign up process.

Before you begin the sign up process, you should decide what "Gifting Level" you wish to join at. Only join at a Level that you feel comfortable with.

How Much Should I Get Started With?

That would depend on your budget. As mentioned earlier, there are several different levels that you can enter at. Believe it or not, some people get started in cash gifting out of desperation and in need of quick cash. Some go as far as borrowing the funds to get started from a friend or family member.

Even if you have $500 or more to get started, I would encourage to start at a lower level just to have some funds set aside for some paid advertising. Even though you can promote this activity on and off the Internet for free, it's always good to have some paid advertising to throw in the mix. If done properly, you could yield good results from your paid advertising efforts.

If you can afford to start at a higher gifting level and still have funds set aside for marketing, by all means do so. That just puts you in a better position to receive higher gifting amounts.

Just keep in mind, it could take a while before you receive your first gift, so you don't want to go and use your rent or mortgage money to get started. Start at a level you can live with in case it takes 30, 60 or 90 days before you receive your first gift.
