Castlevania Games
Castlevania Games are by a company called Konami. The premise of the game offers puzzles, challenges, RPG and strategy. It's about Dracula's castle, and your ultimate goal is to slay Dracula. The Belmonts are the main characters, and are the family that take action.
You'll find skeletons, ghosts and zombies along with other undead on your quest. Death (usually a boss) isn't far behind.
Whether you're in the entrance, chapel, caverns underground, dungeons or other areas, you'll come to recognize Dracula's castle well, as in each series it stays somewhat consistent.
There's word of a movie in the works based on the "Castlevania games", but nothing solid. I did find this listing, showing 2009 as the release date, but there's nothing firm.

Castlevania Order of Ecclesia
Castelvania Order of Ecclesia Review
Review of Castlevania Order of Ecclesia
Castlevania, Order of Ecclesia takes place during a time when the Belmont clan had mysteriously disappeared. Many cults and religious groups have bonded together to try to stop Dracula once and for all. One group that arose, called Ecclesia, had a power of glyphs, and a glyph that would bring down Dracula is Dominus, which has the same powers as Dracula. You're chosen to be the host of Dominus, but Albus was told he was going to be the original host, so he steals Dominus. Through this, you lose your memory and your glyphs.
Then you begin the game...
When the game starts, you start in Ecclesia and start your tutorial, then travel around an overworld map trying to track down Albus to get the pieces of Dominus. Albus will give you a piece or two, but only to figure out how to absorb the glyphs himself. When Albus absorbs the final glyph, you must track him down and kill him.
After this, you'll learn that Albus is actually your brother in a way, and that Ecclesia is not trying to take Dracula down, but wants to resurrect Dracula once again. After the boss fight with Barlow, Barlow resurrects Dracula, thus you go to Dracula's castle.
Dracula's castle may have shrunk a little bit, not much at all. You can expect the size of Portrait of Ruin's Castle, or maybe just a little bigger.
Based out of previous versions, this is the best DS version of Castlevania in my opinion. It has more challenge than the other games.
--------------------------------------------------
You may have noticed the new Castlevania game coming out on the DS is in 2D, but if you're a true Castelvania fan you'd know that most of their games are 2D games.
This is the first game in the main series where you play as a female character. In part of the series, whcch is not as well known, there was a character known as Sonia Belmont. The game takes place after Castlevania Bloodlines, and before Castlevania Symphony of the Night. This is when the Belmont clan had mysteriously disappeared. There are many clans and churches who are trying to bring down Dracula, while this is the most powerful one. The person they send to do the job is Shanoa.
The game has a similar system to Castlevania Area of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow, which is the soul system. You'll get glyphs which you can equip to your right or left hand, or even your back. There will not be weapons used in this game, and the touch screen will not be as prevalent. The glyphs will act as the weapon.
There's a new feature on this game which is the world map. It's similar to Castlevania Simon's Quest, where you can travel outside of the castle. This new version will be featuring 20 areas which you can explore, which is a major enhancement from the Castlevania series.
