Discover Ways To Be A Responsible Cat Owner Throughout Its Lifetime

Cats count on us to keep them happy and well. They are important members of our family for life. Whether you have one cat or multiple cats, whether they are kittens or older cats, they deserve to be well cared for from beginning to end and everywhere in between. It is our responsibility, worldwide, to give them the quality of life all cats need and want. They can't do it without us. Let's speak for them.

Let Me Introduce You To Daily Catitude!

Taking Care Of Your Cat Through All Life Stages

To Cat Lovers Everywhere!

I want to introduce you to DailyCatitude.com - Taking Care Of Your Cat Through All Life Stages.

This is an invitation to my new blog I started just a few weeks ago because I absolutely love cats - the good, the bad, and the ugly, my cat, your cat, anyone's cat!

Remember - this is cat care for life! Taking of your cat goes way beyond the basics of providing food and water. It begins before you bring your new kitty home and lasts its entire lifetime. I hope you will join me on this fabulous journey of taking care of your cat through all life stages.

There are way too many kittens being born. There is way too much animal abuse - yes, cats get abused, too. Hopefully, by taking care of your cat, by all of us taking care of our cats, we can not only keep our own pet happier and healthier, we can help end some of the horrible things that happen cats all over the world. We all must be responsible owners. There really is no other choice.

I have written a blog post about adopting a cat or a kitten and included tips to help make a good decision that will be best for you and your new feline friend. I also have an article titled "Adopting a Cat Or a Kitten - 5 Tips For Making a Decision That is Right For You and Your New Pet" and is available at EzineArticles.com. I have a link to it on my blog if you want to check it out. I also just published a post about spaying and neutering your cat. There are so many topics I plan to learn and write about. Please leave a comment and if you want to learn more about a particular topic, let me know that, too. I would love to hear from you! I plan to discuss a variety of issues that will make taking care of your cat a joyful experience for both of you. I will be making some changes to the look and feel to my blog since it is very basic and I am not particularly quick with the technical stuff. However, the idea behind my blog will stay the same.

When we take this journey together to learn how to be a more responsible cat owner, always remember that they depend on us for everything. Even cats roaming the streets depend on us humans to stop what is happening to them. Let's focus on cat care for life. It all starts with one person, with one home.Let it start today!

We are their voice!

Pet Happenings For February 2009

Important Reminders To Help You Take Care Of Your Pet

In our hearts, we all want to be responsible pet owners. However, we get busy with work, the kids, school - you know, life stuff, and sometimes forget some important issues that can effect the health and well-being of our furry family members. Here are some reminders to help you keep your pet healthy and safe.

1. February is National Prevent A Litter Month. This is an important reminder to
have your pet spayed or neutered. There are too many animals in shelters and
there simply is not enough room for all that need a place to go. Many of them
already in shelters end up being euthanized just to make room for the others
coming in. If the animal is in a no-kill shelter, it frequently spends its life there
unless someone adopts it. This is a huge problem with cats.

2. February 12 was Spay Day International owing to the fact that pet over-
population is a global problem. Spay Day USA, part of the Doris Day Animal
Foundation, will be held on February 24. Please have your pet spayed or
neutered!

3. February is Pet Dental Health Month. Dental care for pets is often overlooked.
Animals can have the same dental problems as people, including infections and
tooth loss. That leads to nutritional problems and, sometimes having to buy
special food just so it can eat. That can be stressful to an animal who has to have
their food suddenly changed.

4. February is Responsible Pet Owner Month. This serves to remind us that our
depend on us for for their health and happiness. We can renew our committment
to do the very best we can for them because they give their best to us.

5. February 14 was Pet Theft Awareness Day. Even though that day has passed,
we all should be vigilant to know where our pets are at all times and make sure
they are secure. There are some people in this world who will steal someone's
pet to hold for some type of ransom to get money from the owner or find some
kind of monetary gain in the animal itself, such as breeding it or selling it. It is a
good idea to have a microchip implanted in your pet in case they get lost or
stolen. A simple microchip has been responsible for many happy reunions.

6. February 20 was Love Yor Pet Day. Make every day Love Your Pet Day!

When we take care of our pets to the best of our ability and give them a little extra
TLC every day, they will reward us with unconditional love and loyalty for a lifetime. If they could "people talk", I bet they would say, "Thanks. I love you, too.

Stop Animal Cruelty In The United States

Founded in 1866, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was the first humane organization in the Western Hemisphere. It began in an effort to protect working horses in New York City and has evolved to provide protection for all companion animals.

The ASPCA works hard to ensure these animals are protected by law because they not only deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, it is their right!

Animal abuse and neglect in the United States occurs every day. Let's join together to help those that can't speak for themselves!

The Society was formed to alleviate the injustices animals faced then, and we continue to battle cruelty today. Whether it's saving a pet who has been accidentally poisoned, fighting to pass humane laws, rescuing animals from abuse or sharing resources wi

Don't we just love our cats? They do all sorts of things from sleeping on our beds to climbing our bookcases. We love to take their pictures but getting them to pose for the camera is a different story! Can you imagine life without your cat? I know I can't! We often catch them engaging in funny antics. They are so quiet sometimes that we don't even know what they're up to! I keep my camera handy. Do you?

    Thanks chefkeem!

I appreciate that. I have a bunch of ideas for cat lenses as well as some other topics. I have an idea ready to go about cat behavior and the things cats do that drive us crazy. I'm just trying to figure out if it's the cat or cat hair that should come first! Need a good name or title, too. Thanks for the thumbs up. It really does inspire me.

    Hey mysticmamma!

Thanks for the welcome and I'm glad you like my first lens. I love that name - Kitty Wompuss! I have 5 kitties right now - Callie, Abbey, Gorgeous Baby, My Favorite Kind, and Precious Pearl. I had 7 cats but 2 of them Nikki and Caesar) died a month apart this past December and January. They were older babies - 21 and 16 - and totally awesome. As I'm typing this, callie is trying her best to get in front of my monitor. She has become fascinated by the movement of the cursor and she stares at it! I have more lens ideas about cats. Hope you like them, too.
