How about this one. You decide to buy a cat tree condo because your cat is driving you nuts. You go to the pet store and the selection and the price stink! Of course, you could drive an hour to the next town that has a bigger pet store- and find lousy selection and higher prices.

But now we have the internet! Thanks to the Internet, all cat pet supplies are at the touch of your fingers. At two in the morning, you can browse for hundreds of cat condos and then shop even more to find who is selling it for the cheapest. On top of that, if you don't mind shopping for used cat runs and cat fountains, you've got thousands of those at your fingertips as well.

If you are tired of your cat climbing on you and your furniture, maybe its time to build your own.

Here is how you do it. It very easy, and you can make it out of scapes of lumber and carpet thats hiding in your garage.

Here is what you'll need:

excess lumber
carpet remnants
rope
angle brackets
nails, screws, etc. and hammer, screw driver

The fastest cat condo for the non professional person is a center pole with side platforms. The pole in the center needs to be about 4x4 for durability and lasting power, also get a large length of rope at the home store if you don't have any in your garage.

This cat tree condo needs a large supportive base; the higher your center pole, the wider the platform base you'll need to build so that it isn't top heavy. A 5- to 6-foot center pole requires a minimum of a 4 foot base, Make sure you area is big enough to hold your cat condo.

1.Screw the center pole onto your platform base with a long bolt, Brackets should be used to give extra stability. If you want this condo to be carpeted, you should do this before you add the cent pole.
2.You can add platforms around the pole by putting a 4x4 notch on each plywood platform and simply adding it to the center ploe with angle brackets. You should allow about a foot in between each platform. You can stagger the platforms so that your cats can climb them like they would stairs. At this point you could even include a kitty hide out box at the top of the center beam.
3.Tip- it's easier to carpet the platforms as well as th pole before you put it all together.
4.Once you have connected the platforms, its time to rope the pole You'll need to have at least a half-inch thick rope- anything less will be shredded by your cats! Start at the bottom and wrap up - Use nails to secure the rope as you go. Nail it in place every two turns of the rope.
5.After you have finished your cat condo, rub some catnip on it to encourage your cats to explore their new toy!
