Many people don't know that there are lyrics to this waltz, written in 1950 by Mitchell Parish:There once was a tomcat, a wonderful tomcat,
who had all the usual faults,
But this cat was different, what made him so different
was his inclination to waltz.
Each night this feline Sir to his lady fair would purr:

I never knew what a little waltz could do,

Leroy Anderson (June 29, 1908 ? May 18, 1975) was an American composer of short, light concert pieces, many of which were introduced by the Boston Pops Orchestra under the direction of Arthur Fiedler. John Williams described him as "one of the great American masters of light orchestral music."

- Tam Angela is my 19 year old cat. I got her as a kitten during hard times and, although she is not a lap cat, she loves to waltz with me. In the beginning, my Sheltie, Molly, would race around and around us the opposite way we turned. It was fun! And still "T" likes to dance. We will waltz through eternity together!
