G. K. Chesterton

from Wikipedia

G. K. Chesterton was a prolific author of both fiction and non-fiction, whose humorous style makes me think of him as "the Catholic Mark Twain". Here's what Wikipedia has to say about him:

J. R. R. Tolkien

from Wikipedia

While J. R. R. Tolkien may be best known for the fantasy trilogy The Lord of the Rings, he has also written scholarly works of non-fiction. Here's what Wikipedia has to say about him:

John Ronald Reuel Tolkien, CBE (See inogolo:pronunciation of J.R.R. Tolkien. The position of the stress is not entirely fixed: stress on the second syllable (tolkien rather than tolkien) has been used by some members of the Tolkien family.) (3 January 1892 ? 2 September 1973) was an English writer, poet, philologist, and university professor, best known as the author of the high fantasy classic works The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.

C. S. Lewis

from Wikipedia

While C. S. Lewis wasn't actually Catholic, his personal philosophy was close enough to Catholicism that his works on Christianity are often quoted by Catholic apologists in defense of their faith. He may be best-known these days for writing the children's fantasy books that comprise The Chronicles of Narnia. Here's what Wikipedia has to say about him:

Clive Staples "Jack" Lewis (29 November 1898 ? 22 November 1963), commonly referred to as C. S. Lewis, was an Irish writer and scholar. Lewis's works are diverse and include medieval literature, Christian apologetics, literary criticism, radio broadcasts, essays on Christianity, and fiction relating to the fight between good and evil. Examples of Lewis's allegorical fiction include The Screwtape Letters, The Chronicles of Narnia and The Space Trilogy.

Lewis was a close friend of J. R...
