Celtic Music: Capercaillie
Ranked #9,902 in Music, #269,175 overall | Donates to KIVA
A great mix of Scottish traditional and contemporary sounds
"Their seductively contemporary sound and production, their mastery of traditional instruments (along with a willingness to look beyond them) and the voice of Karen Matheson have helped Capercaillie re-model the Celtic landscape..."

Capercaillie: One of the best Celtic bands
Capercaillie, recognized as one of the best Scottish bands out there, has always had great musicians contributing to the sound, led by founding member Donald Shaw on keyboards and accordion. Their other great strength lies in the astonishingly beautiful voice of founder Karen Matheson, described by Sean Connery as having "a throat that is surely touched by God."
Capercaillie has had three silver albums and one gold in the UK, and were the first to have a song in Gaelic reach the Top 40. They have released sixteen albums and CDs since 1984.
