We know from past history there are some that are not law abiding citizens but please do not stereotype all persons who ride motorcycles.
The fact is bikers are some of the biggest hearted people I've ever met. They give, give, and keep on giving.
Brother's For Charities
Charitable Rides
The Love Ride
An example of this giving can be found all over the world. This year, in California, they held the 25th annual Love Ride, such celebrities as Peter Fonda, Jay Leno, & Robert Patrick, just to name a few, attended and participated in this event. The purpose of this event was to raise money to "Improve the Quality of Life for Those Less Fortunate". The amount of money raised by just the top 10 fundraisers was $16,715.00; just the top ten; image how much more money was raised from other sources and the day of the event. The beneficiaries, from this event "those less fortunate", included, Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), Catholic Big Brothers Big Sisters, Los Angeles Children's Hospital, Frostig Center, Special Olympics in Southern California, just to name a few. The money that is raised, by bikers and everyone who attends, goes to help these facilities for the less fortunate has, no doubt,

made a tremendous difference in the efforts to find cures, aid in hospital billing, helping children learn, etc. What a loss to these facilities and what a shame for those less fortunate, without the help from the biker community.
The Frostig School at the Marianne Frostig Center of Educational Therapy was established in 1951 by Marianne Frostig. It is one of the few programs in the Los Angeles area that is designed exclusively for children with learning disabilities who do not have serious emotional disturbances. We offer a full range of academic and support services on site and serve students from 1st through 12th grade.
SE Ohio Katelynn Stinnett National Memorial Ride
The Katelynn Stinnett National Memorial Ride will be held June 13, 2009 at the Rusty Rooster Lounge at 5045 South River Road (SR 60) in Duncan Falls, Ohio. The purpose of this national memorial ride is child abuse prevention awareness. According to the site that is advertising this ride child abuse needs to be addressed LOUDLY... there needs to be more awareness and education on child abuse. Unfortunately, there are so many little children like Katelynn Stinnett, whose voices have been silenced by their abusers. This ride is a national ride and runs will be planned in all 50 states. To see when and where this ride is planned for your area please go to Google and type in Katelynn Stinnett. The money raised on this ride from each state will benefit the state in which the event was held. Prevent Child Abuse Ohio, a statewide organization, will receive all monies raised by this ride for the State of Ohio. They will be directed to utilize this money for 21 Ohio counties and specifically for Shaken Baby Syndrome Education Program and HUGS Program (Help Us Grow Safely).
For more information on the national memorial ride, in Ohio, please visit Katelynn Stinnett National Memorial Ride.
Anyone who can join this ride will have a great ride; but more importantly, you will be helping to education on the sad issuse of prevention of child abuse awareness in our country.
Giving From The Biker Community
As I've stated before, bikers not only give at charity rides they also help to put these events together. They work in the evenings after work and on the weekends. They take time away from their families in order for other, less fortunate families, to have toys for their childen at Christmas, and for their children to receive better medical treatment, a great time at the Summer Olympic games, and a better chance at an education, just to name a few of the great causes. How Bad R Bikers?
Are bikers bad or really bad?
How Bad Are They?

Ron Fields says:
There a bunch of people that live differently, then other's. I'm 66 years old, been a biker all my life, and dam proud of it. Just because I'm different then other people, don't be scared of us. WE have famileys to.
CDT says:
I've NEVER met a bad biker - and I've met many of them! Sure they can be a bit "tribal" within the biker community, but when it comes to getting off their backsides and doing something to help others, bikers are at the front of the queue :) m/
Val_Bonney says:
My husband and I used to have a pub where a number of bikers were regulars (drank Diet Coke mostly!!) and they were the most polite, intelligent, kind, funny and generous people imaginable ... and when I was a youngster I was a pretty nice "bikers' moll" myself, LOL !!!
luvmyludwig says:
Well I can only speak for my dad and he's a wonderful man. He actually has two stereotypes working against him, he's a drummer/biker.
Tipi says:
Well, that depends on who you talk to. I have good relationships with the local bikers! :)

Toys For Tots

This event is sponsored by ABATE (American Bikers Attempting to Educate). My husband and I have attended these events and when we get to the Children's Hospital, with all those toys, you can not believe the smiles these toys bring to the faces of these children. It's amazing and a very beautiful thing to see. You watch these, tough and rough looking, guys with tattoos and their biker leathers on carrying load after load of toys to these children, it makes you want to cry and smile at the same time.

Most people, who don't ride, never see the good things that come from bikers; they only hear bad stories and believe every biker is the same. Not true, my husband and I have been on benefit runs where every stop these same rough bikers are in their wallets giving more money for the cause. And it isn't just money they give, if you are having problems with your bike they are the first ones to stop, the first ones to help, and the first ones to stay with you until help arrives.
