Your Source For Cheap Search Engine Optimization
In my lens title I used the word cheap instead of free, so this might make you think you will have to make some kind of financial investment in what I will teach. This is not true. I have a really good reason why I chose to use this title. Most the advice, tips, and tricks on this page will be FREE of charge, however they will have some sort of commitment and/or investment on your part. Whether it be time or money it still comes at some sort of cost to implement. This is why i used the word cheap instead of free. Now don't get freaked out and think you have to spend any money because you actually do not need to spend anything. Most of the tactics I will show you can be implemented without spending a red cent, however you will definitly have to make some sort of time commitment to accomplish certain tasks. On the other hand, if you are someone whose time is more valable than money, then I also have some low cost solutions for you that will save you the time of doing some of these tasks manually. Anyway enough with my blabbling on, lets get to the top of the search engines shall we...

Getting Indexed By The Search Engines
What to do and what to avoid
How do you get your website indexed?
All you need is to somehow lure a search engine bot onto your website so it can spider your entire site. Once the bots reach your site and spider all the pages, you will shorty thereafter see your pages getting indexed. Now you will probably have horrible rankings, but you are indexed and that is what is important about this first step. You can work on building your rank later. On to the next question...
How do you get search engine bots to spider your website?
This is where you have to be careful. If you do this wrong or in what's called a "black-hat" fashion, then you can very easily get banned from certain search engines. You do not want your site to get banned for obvious reasons. So this is how to avoid getting banned...
Do NOT use a search engine submission service. Although there are some legitimate companies out there that do your search engine submissions, there are probably 10 times more "bad" search engine submission companies out there. Some use black-hat tactics which will get your site banned, some will submit your site numerous times, sometimes so much that the search engine will ban your site, and some companies just do not have the right knowledge to even be offering a service like this. So my advice to you... Save your time, money and website credibility and just do not use any search engine submission services.
Another thing that you do NOT want to do is to continuously submit your site to the same search engine. Sometimes when you submit your site, it sits in a queue for sometimes up to a year before they even bother to look at it, so if you submit your site once a month by time the year roles around they will see it there 12 times and just plain ignore it. Just the fact that it takes so long for them to look at your submission I wouldn't even recommend using any of the search engines' submission pages. So what can you do to successfully get indexed?
My biggest recommendation would be to allow the search engine bots to find your page "naturally". This will offer you the best and fastest indexing on the search engines. Now to get a spider to your site "naturally" is actually quite easy. In essence all you really need to do is get a a website or webpage with a lot of traffic and a high page rank to somehow link to your site. Naturally when this "high-authority" site is linked to you and the search engine bots spider that particualar page or site, it will follow the link to your site, and just like that you have search engine bots spidering the pages of your website.
My Personal Recommendation...
What I find to be the easiest way to get indexed is to write an article on a high traffic article directory. I use ezinearticles.com but goarticles.com is a good article directory as well. All I usually do is write an article with all the keywords that are relevant to my website and submit it. Now the most important part of this is to have a link to your website in the resource box that these article directories allow you to write in. A resource box is a little snippet at the end of your article which usually talks about the author and they allow you to put a link in it. Create a link to your site. Once it is approved and added to the article directory, it will just be a matter of time before the search engine bots start to crawl all over your webpages. The maximum time I have seen has been 2 weeks. Usually it is less than that. Anytime I have a new website or webpage I want indexed, I just take about 20-30 minutes to write a nice decent article, add my website link to the resource box, submit it, and wait for my website to get indexed. It's that simple.

PPC is faster in getting visitors -- yet can quickly become extremely expensive, especially if you make a few "mistakes" -- target the wrong keywords, set the click price too high, etc. SEO, can take alot of time to see results, yet if a few mistakes are made, you do not lose your "shirt" Plus, if SEO is done correctly, the time invested brings you income continuously.

SEO doesn't really require you to have a large budget, although there is a lot more work needed to be effective and takes a little more time.

SEO is more effective than PPC because in PPC you need a lot of budget to spend and to stay in the longer in the competition. PPC is for short term but effective SEO techniques keep you in a long run.

PPC is more expensive but easier to predict, SEO can be rewarding but as search engines change it is a continual battle to stay on first page.

SEO is so slow. It takes me weeks sometimes before I get a Google listing and then the traffic can be very low.
PPC gives a result within half a day. Mind you I have lost money at times, and I've been "slapped" for no apparent reason, which can be a real drag.
