Chemical Sensitivity & Allergies
Ranked #119,004 in Healthy Living, #1,174,880 overall
Welcome to my healthy Lens!
I have become very aware in recent years of the growing number of people who are affected by chemicals found in every day life. This lens is to further highlight this issue and to offer a some help for those who may be chemically sensitive or who would just like to reduce the amount of harmful chemicals they are exposed to. Tests have shown that when we are exposed to harmful chemicals (through breathing them in, ingesting them via food and drink or absorbing them through our skin) traces of them can be found in every major organ of our bodies within 26 seconds of them entering our bodies. I for one am appalled and frightened when I read this sort of information and am proud to be supporting people across the UK reduce the amount of chemicals in their homes. If you would like to join them please feel free to visit us at the ENJO UK Website.

Ways to Reduce Chemicals in the Home
Vastly improve indoor air quality to make your home safer and healthier with these tips.
Hard Flooring - use hardwood floorboards treated with natural beeswax or ceramic tiles or natural stone.
Carpets - use second hand carpets or carpets that have been aired for at least 6 months.
Furniture - avoid furniture made of particle board which releases formaldehyde. Use hardwood, stainless steel of glass furniture instead.
Paints - water based paints are usually fume free but solvent free eco-friendly paints are best.
Cleaning products - by far the best modern products are fibre based products that clean without the use of any chemicals. Not to be confused with "eco-friendly" and "natural" cleaning products which still contain chemicals (plant based rather than petrochemical based). See video below.
