Coronet Productions created the first pageant to celebrate plus size women on a national level. They "believe that all women are beautiful, inside and out" and are "devoted to celebrating the essence of the full-figured woman and giving her an avenue in which to pursue recognition for those causes".

Chenese Lewis, who was working as a plus size model/actress at the time, entered as Miss Louisiana Plus America. Within a short time she went on to win the main title in the 2003 event. Because of her continued work in promoting the value of plus size women they also awarded her with Miss Plus America Lifetime.

This experience led Chenese to create the first online directory dedicated exclusively for plus size pageants and competitions, Plus Pageantry.

A prominent acting role for Chenese was that of Baby Mama on BET's Hell Date, a comedic show about dates from hell. Is it real or fiction? You have to watch to be the judge. Chenese appeared in four episodes in the first season.

Every October since 2006, Chenese has helped women worldwide celebrate their bodies no matter what their size. In West Hollywood, California she has hosted an afternoon of love and appreciation along with special co-hosts like Mia Tyler and Kim Coles.

The Love Your Body! Project includes colourful rubber wristbands available to women worldwide. The bands deliver a powerful affirmation to the wearer as well as help to contribute to organizations that promote a positive body image.

Her latest gig is an internet radio show, sponsored by PLUS Model Magazine, that highlights some of the most adored faces of the industry. She's Interviewed ANTM Whitney Thompson as well as American's Idol's Kimberley Locke.
