Hi there, thanks for dropping by Georgia Snow and leaving a comment. Goodness knows I know about North Carolina's white Christmas. It took my husband and I 18 hours to drive from Michigan back to Georgia. Seen a lot of snow in North Carolina. I think we traveled (who know how many miles) going about 20 miles per hour. What an experience! We had about 7-8 inches of snow here over the weekend and it is still on the ground, covered with a sheet of ice. BUT the first day it snowed, I was out in it and although I am 52 I got out there and made a snow angel (laughs) It was so funny, but a lot of fun too! That was my first SnowAngel since childhood! Hope you are well.

I can just imagine you lying there making that snow angel! (grin) I find that it's better to be home inside watching it snow than trying to drive through it -- but sometimes you just have to get where you're going. Happy to hear you got home safely.

What a fantasic lens. It looks gorgeous there! I went to Elder Mountain, near Chatanooga TN, drove there myself from NE, and I thought the entire area was just breathtaking. You are a lucky man!

My dad used to take us on vacations to that area when I was young. I really enjoyed it. Sadly I have not had the chance to take my family there to enjoy the beauty.

Wow! What great info John. This is one of my favorite areas. I live in the piedmont - so not too far away. The boys and I get to your neck of the woods most summers. I'll be back to read more. Thanks.

I love Cherokee!!! Thanks for a great lens! Lots of good information here. I had forgotten there was anything much up there but Harrah's! lol Murphy looks absolutely lovely!! I grew up in Pendleton, SC -- about that same size town, I think. A very special way of life, where everybody knows (and cares about) everybody else!

30 years ago, when I lived in Atlanta, I dreamed of living in the NC mountains. Now, I have the pleasure of running my marketing business from a cabin in the mountains a few miles north of Murphy, NC.
    Act on your dream!
