The fonts on the alphabet shirts are in different colors to represent the different types of letters; vowels, consonants, and cross-over letters. Cross-over letters are letters that sometimes act like a vowel and sometimes a consonant. Yes, W also acts like a vowel too at times, as in the word flow. : )
