Child trafficking is the worst of crimes. The countries that allow this, even turn a blind eye in order to make the tourist money, should be severely dealt with. Until everyone involved is treated like the criminals they are, I fear there is not going to be very much done. Having said that, I do believe saving one child is worth the effort!

I like the way you challenge us at the end to do something so I will.

This is a wake-up call to many. Thousand of innocent children have been victims of child trafficking and many have uncertain future. Thanks for the enlightenment. I have also finished my Lens of comparing Energy Medicine techniques - and you have some here that are truly thought-provoking. The photos and video are inspiring. Please stop by and visit. Sundae ;-)

Sadly, I think that authorities won't do anything to stop this and we, with our small powers can't do more than we already do. I think such traffics are beyond us and our will. Big interests are involved and we know that when money is involved, acts have no meaning :( But at least, we can keep spread the word...
  • KathyMcGraw Oct 10, 2010 @ 2:03 pm | delete
I have been involved with organizations that have helped women and children for years..and know that we absolutely can make a difference! You are right about it being big business and the money...but that is why we have to band together and even if we just save one child from this horror...that is one child who won't have to live like this.
  • Mujjen Oct 9, 2010 @ 2:27 pm | delete
I have been helping by spreading information in the different communities where I have lived. Will continue.

One of the most disgusting things EVER. I can't believe how many people aren't aware of how common this actually is today. Hope your lens brings a lot more awareness!

Hopefully, the clout of Squidoo will bring this important issue, and ways to stop it, to a wider audience. Powerfully presented.

excellent lens- I only found out about this problem recently and started a lens on human trafficking myself.
It's a frightening problem, but we can do something about it.
    good work!

    Important topic, excellent lens!

Great work! It's important for people to know that child sex trafficking happens within the United States, not just to children in other nations. Kids are bought and sold right where we live. It's not as common here, but it does happen and it needs to stop.

Thank you everyone who has visited this lens. It is indeed a subject that is hard to read, and even harder to think of in our own backyard. But it is here, so hopefully everyone Marks their Calendar, tells their friends to mark theirs, and let's all donate our $9 to help get these materials out to the kids, parents, and Organizations that need them the most.
  • oneskms Aug 24, 2009 @ 4:53 pm | delete
Very hard hitting and worthwhile lens on a sick subject.
The figures are astounding, I was sort of aware of this perverted activity but never realised it had got to this extent.
I hope this lens and the website get to as many people as possible

Since the beginning of time, man has sold himself and others into slavery one way or another. Only the utmost depraved individuals would create an industry based on victimizing the weak and innocent. May this lens help further the cause in keeping parents and children informed.
  • GrowWear Aug 23, 2009 @ 4:01 pm | delete
All children should be kept safe from harm. Much success with this very worthy cause!
  • a_willow Aug 23, 2009 @ 1:03 pm | delete
This is problem many people aren't aware of. They live in their cozy little bubble worlds and don't want to be bothered with this. Hope they will never experience something like this themselves. Because... this is not only problem of the Third world countries... it can happen anywhere... even in your city!

Outstanding lens! Blessed by an Angel!

Wow, what a lens. I got chills just reading the intro. Thank you for sharing this information and helping the Born2Fly Project. I will never understand how anyone can be cruel. It breaks my heart that organizations like Born2Fly have the need to exist, but I'm grateful they do. Brilliant work, as we've come to expect from you!

Thank you so much for this excellent lens about the effort to stop child trafficking. The stories are painful to read...but there IS something we can do to stop the traffic.

Join us on 09-09-09 for our 1-day fundraiser to print and distribute the Born2Fly materials to at-risk kids all over the world. We CAN do something about this worldwide pandemic.
