Do you have bad Feng shui.

If you are having financial trouble, bad relationships or if you are just plain sick all the time, you might just be a victim of bad Feng shui. That means it might be time for a little straitening things up around the house. Clear out all the clutter, fix all your leaky faucets, Throw out any broken items. These are all good thing to do. But there is more to feng shui than what most people would think.

Let me start by saying Feng Shui is not a religious belief, philosophy or superstition. Feng Shui is a form of art based on science that unites energy, time, space, people and the environment to achieve balance in life.

More about Feng shui

Take advantage of your surroundings to invite good chi (energy) and have it move freely throughout your home and reduce negative chi.

Feng Shui is based upon science and mathematical formulas from the laws of nature. By using feng shui we can have more control over our environment to achieve the right harmony and balance in our lives.

Just by painting a room a different color or relocating your favorite chair can have an effect on the balance of the room. It may be in a positive way or a negative way.

It is easy to implement but difficult to master, there is more to feng shui than many other would lead you to believe. There is no cookie cutter method of using feng shui. The best methods can be used together to give you a clear picture of what needs to be done around the home.

Feng shui is the Chinese art of placement and has been practiced for over 5,000 yrs. Several theories and methods have emerged over the years.

There are 3 main schools of Feng shui.

* 1 Flying star (compass)

* 2 Shapes and forms

* 3 The Ba Gua School.

Several aspects of Feng shui needs to be taken into consideration. Everything from flying stars, time energies, facing directions effect you. There are yearly, monthly and daily energies that change with the stars. You can use these stars to see a bad month coming and make necessary adjustments to your room to lessen the impact or to use this method to capitalize on a good month.

FLYING STAR

* Flying star (compass school) Uses the year your house was built and the direction the door faces to find the energy patterns inside the home called flying star natal chart. Your floor plan is divided into 8 sections by the direction on the compass. Basically 9 blocks counting the center.

In each block there is a mountain star and a water star and a time star represented by a kua number. These stars interact with one another in a positive or a negative way. The directions on the compass also have one of the 5 elements that help to balance the stars. When used with other methods you can activate the good stars by placing a certain shape or color in these areas. Keep in mind though these numbers do change.

Another extension to the Flying star is the 8 house theory. to cover this in a general way is it uses the persons birth date to determine there suitable house. For example some people will do better in a house with an east facing door as opposed to a west facing door.

Shapes and Forms

* Shapes and form schools uses the surroundings of the outdoor environment as well as the shapes and elements of objects to determine the effect they have on people. Instead of all 8 compass directions shapes and forms uses the 4 main directions.

Ba gua

Ba gua school is also known as Western feng shui. This is a simplified method it uses the 5 elements and life aspirations but is based off of the direction of the main door. It uses a ba gua map at the main door location to find locations of your life aspirations. This way is made to be more constant.

This may seem like a challenge to take this all in but there are some great teachers online that can make this process easy by doing the hard part for you. If you are really interested, there are even online courses that you can take and receive a certificate showing your knowledge of the art of feng shui.

If you really want to simplify things I highly recommend Jami Lin's program She explains things in a way that it is easily understandable. I feel that this is the easiest way for the beginner to learn the art.
She also offers a personal monthly report that does all the complex calculations for you. This makes feng shui easy to implement in your home.

Mirrors in feng shui.

The use of mirrors in feng shui is mostly due to superstition and not actually a part of traditional feng shui. Traditional feng shui utilizes the 5 elements.

However, There are a few theories about the use of mirrors in feng shui. One is the use of the flying star theory were your do not want a mirror in an area that is considered bad (inauspicious) cause it could multiply the effects. There is the idea that mirrors can absorb negative chi by using a concave mirror or deflect energy by using a convex mirror.

Another is the theory is that there is no effect from a mirror because a mirror can only reflects light and not heat or energy.

The basic concepts of feng shui is to create harmony with yourself and your surroundings the way I tend to look at things is if it feels right or it feels like it fits put it there.

Just a quick note about mirrors. A long time ago mirrors were made of polished metal but now that is not the case perhaps that is how mirrors were introduced to traditional feng shui. Not necessarily from it's reflective properties but for the metal element.

Common Bad Feng Shui around the home and how to cure them.

Look around your home do you see anything on this list?

Clutter!! This one is Defiantly the most common

# Find a home for all your items pick up the floor do not display to many items in one area, Hide exposed wires,Remove everything that looks out of place.

Toilet in the center of the house

# This is a bad one! Place a copper gourd (wuloo) beside the toilet. Keep the lid closed the bathroom floor dry and the door shut. The gourd is the powerful symbol of health, longevity and prosperity

Poison arrows! Sharp corners that appear to cut into your space, furniture, wall corners, Desks ect

# A good tip here is to use a light fabric along the edges to soften the edge. Or place a plant in the arrows path

Plants in the bedroom. Plants put off active energy and not a good idea to have in a bedroom where you will rest.

# replace with fake plants if you would like to have a plant in the bedroom.

No mirrors reflecting the bed

# move the bed away from it or remove it all together. Some people are more sensitive to this than others for some reason I couldn't sleep well until I got some advise to remove my mirror. I had the feeling like somebody was watching me. After removing the mirror I seem to have gotten over this.

Front door facing the back door, This allows all the good energy flow right through the house

# Put up a divider so the back door can't be seen from the front door

Dark corners

# This one is simple add lighting to these areas or plants that require low light. Plants put of positive energy

Too much of 1 color in the room

# You should have a good balance of colors and symbolics of the 5 elements. Earth Wind Water Fire Metal. These elements cancel and support each other to create balance. Keep in mind you also have an element take this into consideration when decorating For example I am a weak earth and need fire to support my weak earth and less wood to keep my element from becoming too weak.

Tree in front of the door, This blocks good energy from entering the home.

# You can do like I did and chop it down or supposedly you can put a concave mirror reflecting the image back.
Trees blocking the front door is believed to block the good energy from flowing into the house.
