Okay, I love Chocolate Ornaments. Every year when we were little my sister and I would make paper chains and hang them Dec 1. these were our Advent calendar. Each day we would hang a chocolate ornament on the bottom chain and every evening as the day was done we would tear off the day and eat the chocolate! Now with 4 kids of my own and the difficulty of finding these in Kansas I have had to try new things like taping on kisses. Still I love the ornaments. thanks for the links!

Wow, I am pretty sure I would end up eating the ornaments way too quickly. However, I think that the ideas you posted about here are super cute ones. I enjoyed this lens very much. Thank you for putting so much effort into it.

Good information for home making chocolate !! I think i can make it easy. Try today... Chocolate Lovers .I thought that chocolate chips were needed in an otherwise perfect cake. Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts, if using. Chocolate lovers, rejoice -- this is your dessert. Cocoa powder flavors flat disks of meringues, and rich bittersweet chocolate is the base for the filling that holds them together.

How did I miss this one earlier? I would always read something with the word "chocolate" in the title. Lovely idea, chocolate ornaments, though my tree would be bare well before Christmas day.
  • vallain Nov 16, 2011 @ 9:29 am | delete
This would be fun to decorate a mini-tree (about a 3 foot one) for a party and let the guests eat all the ornaments.

    Merry Christmas!

I've never paid much attention to chocolate ornaments, although I think my grandma put them on her tree. Lensrolling this to my german christmas traditions lens.

We hang candy canes on our tree, but I never thought of chocolate. I think it is a great idea!! Now, if it were possible to make a chocolate tree, wouldn't it be great to just break off a branch and start nibbling on those stressful holiday preparation days? (Sorry, just in a silly mood!) =D
  • jptanabe Nov 14, 2010 @ 3:22 pm | delete
Oh my, a chocolate tree! Now you're talking. That really would be something I could get into!

Okay chocolate ornaments "sound" like a great idea but I have a dog and husband who roam the house alone. I doubt any would last to be actually enjoyed. It's a great idea though for someone who's household has some self control. :)

I could never put chocolate ornaments on my tree. I have no control. Somehow those ornaments would learn my name. They would keep calling me each day and I would go and eat them until they were gone.
  • pkmcr Nov 22, 2009 @ 12:24 pm | delete
Love these - even though I can only eat Gluten Free ones :-) Blessed by a Squid Angel
  • Jewelsofawe Nov 22, 2009 @ 1:13 am | delete

  • JaguarJulie Nov 21, 2009 @ 8:26 am | delete
What a unique idea for chocolate and for ornaments!
  • theraggededge Nov 21, 2009 @ 5:39 am | delete
Mmm... chocolate. Kids here too, so the ornaments would get put away extremely fast. Chocolate tinsel next, please! Or how about miniature bottles of something warming?
  • Sylvestermouse Nov 20, 2009 @ 7:50 pm | delete
I am definitely going to decorate in chocolate now!!! Just think, as I eat the chocolate from the tree, I will be "putting away" the decorations too:) A few less boxes to carry back to the attic would be wonderful!
  • Pukeko Nov 20, 2009 @ 7:15 pm | delete
Oooh, tempting. I don't think these would do well here in the Southern Hemipshere where it is coming into summer, but I am sure they would all be eaten before they melted! What a great idea and a great presentation. Yummy
  • WindyWinters Nov 20, 2009 @ 1:15 pm | delete

  • BevsPaper Nov 20, 2009 @ 12:44 pm | delete
Scrumptious idea! I would struggle with leaving them alone until Christmas!
  • a_willow Nov 20, 2009 @ 12:17 pm | delete
Yummy! Eatable ornaments! Only problem decorating with these with my 2 year old girl - not many would actually end on the tree! :)
  • rms Nov 20, 2009 @ 10:42 am | delete
    Delicious idea!
  • Ramkitten Nov 20, 2009 @ 10:37 am | delete
Ooo, these could be dangerous in a yummy way. I don't know if the ornaments would last till Christmas, though. Not in my house.
