I Choose Success-I am Proactive-There is no Accidental Success
With that being said there are probably as many different goals as there are people. But, just how do we go about achieving Success and realizing our Goals? How can I be Successful? Again, the Success could be wellness, a size, the goal of being a sports champion or a famous singer. It could be anything you wish. It could be becoming the best in your profession, your goal could be to become wealthy, or the best wife and mother you can be, or as a student-get the best grades to achieve future goals.
After writing my article I looked for some famous men who have become very successful to see what they say on this subject. What did I find? I found that they spoke as if they know we would need their expertise on this subject, and we do.
We will let Steven Covey talk to us on Choosing Success. Then we will get some gems of wisdom from Mr. Jack Canfield. I do hope you find what to need to "Choose Success."
Remember, it's your Choice.
Now, lets see what it takes to be Successful.

The First Few Steps of Success
1. You need to begin by writing. Yes, if you have a goal, write it down, and be specific about it. You will not be able to achieve anything if you don't write it down. It would be like trying to go from your home to Disney World. If you didn't have the goal of reaching Disney World, would you ever get there? You must know where you are going to reach that goal. So, write it down and be as specific as possible.
Goals are not the only thing to write. Learn to keep a journal. I have those in my class keep a journal. Statistics show they really help you achieve Success in reaching your goals.
Note: I just received a newsletter where Jillian Michaels also sings the praises of keeping a journal in losing weight. Like previously mentioned, the data shows they get results.
2. Whatever it is that you want to achieve, you need to have a plan. "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail." So, formulate a plan, like your route from your home to Disney World.
3. Depending on your prize or goal, you probably would do much better with training from a coach or mentor. It should be one who has already achieved your particular goal. If they have done it, they should know what it takes. But, make sure he/she is determined, and that they actually care about you, and have trained other successful people or champions-depending on what type of coach they are.
Oh, and after choosing your coach, let them do their job, don't say I don't want to do it that way. Think, have I reached my goal yet? Until you do - take their advice or coaching expertise and run with it. (Which means apply it) A coach doesn't do you any good if you don't apply what he/she teaches you.

Steps 4-7 of Choosing Success

4. It takes commitment. You must be committed to your own Success. Do not be wishy-washy. It takes commitment and determination.
In my own coaching classes or even when I coach one-on-one, until a new student learns the program and begins to see results; I appreciate the fact that he/she is committed to at least learning the program and beginning to apply it. In that way they begin to build up appreciation for it, and then when they begin to see as well as feel the benefits they can fully commit to it.
5. Along with commitment it goes into attitude or mind - set . You need to be so determined in your mind, it is as if your success has already been accomplished. When you look into the mirror you see a champion, or yourself vital and healthy, or slim and trim. You must see yourself at your peak of your particular Success when you look in the mirror.
As Mr. Canfield says, feel the feelings of it already being accomplished. Than you are well on your way to Success.
6. It takes staying on track day after day. If a person gets off track for a day, they must get right back on. We are humans after all, and we all stray occasionally, but, we must brush ourselves off and get right back on track.
7. That leads to another quality of Success. It is the ability to focus. You must be focused, not sidetracked by people, situations, or other goals. Only work toward and achieve one real important goal at a time so you are able to focus on it.

A Must Read Book A friend of mine told me about this book over 20 year ago. He used it to from broke to an income of $2.5 million in 18 months. Unfortunately, I was still a doubter. Over the next few years I kept hearing about Napolean Hill and in particular, his great book Think & Grow Rich so finally I went out and bought a copy at a used book store.
I began using Hill's techniques and foun that they worked even beyond expectations so have been a fan of Hill's since reading Think and Grow Rich so many years ago. %u2026%u2026%u2026

The Last Steps of Choosing Success
The Right Situation-Out of Your Comfort Zone-Never Give Up
8. Put your self into the right situation. You will not achieve success accidentally.
There is no accidental success. You must put yourself in the right situation. If your goal is to be a fabulous ice skater, you should work at a gym with a great coach along with others with the same goal. You need to be in the right situation, a community of people with the same goals. You need the support of friends or peers along with your coach. Yes, you do need the support of family, but, unless they are going through the same thing, join a community going where you want to go. It makes your journey much easier.
9. You must get out of your comfort zone to accomplish something important. I know it is not easy, but it must be done. Change does not mean it is comfortable.
I received a phone call from someone today that has taken my class before, and she is now taking my new class. She admitted that she didn't apply one part of the program the first time-but, now she was and she was so happy and beginning to see and feel results better results. She took the challenge, got out of her comfort zone, and is getting positive results.
10. Like Winston Church said: "Never, Never, Never give up." That statement explains itself because as another quote says: Winners never quit and quitters never win.

- I guess I don't have anything I can think of to report right now, but I do have goals written down for Squidoo for the year, which involve focusing on niche topics and promoting lenses, and I have weekly goals written down, which involve researching and making new lenses, blogging, and updating lenses (among others). I'm just about at the point of over-extending myself and needing to say no to other projects, which sometimes isn't so easy, but is necessary in order to succeed. Great material here, Carmel, as usual!
