Chouinard Vineyards & Winery

Chouinard Vineyards is a small hillside winery located in Castro Valley, near the San Francisco Bay. A redwood barn that was built in the 1930s serves as the Chouinard winery and tasting room. Chouinard Vineyards produces small lots of more than a dozen wine varieties. New releases include Gewurztraminer, Barbera Rose, Alicante Bochet, Old Vine Zin, and Barbera Red. An aromatic Orange Muscat satisfies sweeter palates. The winery's unique Granny Smith Apple Wine is a Gold Medal Winner, and usually sells out. Terraced vineyards and a wooded picnic area provide an idea romantic setting for the Music in the Vineyard series, which is held each summer. Chouinard Vineyards & Winery is also available for special gatherings and events.

Chouinard's tasting room is open weekends and most holidays. Join Chouinard's VIT (Very Important Taster) Club to get some special perks, including preview tastes of new wines and special VIT-member-only events, like the VIT Club Cellar Rat Party.
