Step by Step Internet Marketing

I'm excited for sure to start promoting, but all of a sudden, now that Chris has given us everything we need to start...I have this sudden feeling that maybe now I could actually have some online success..which is somehow making me nervous.

Strange.

Maybe not.....

About this "nervousness":

On April 20th you bought a ticket to ride this roller coaster. You were lucky enough to find this membership site. That is like getting a seat in the very first car.
Since then you have been in a learning mode. The roller coaster has been clanking it's way up that long, first hill.

Now, you are poised at the brink of that first drop. The palms of your hands are damp. Your breath is short and shallow. Your stomach feels hollow. Every fiber of your being is crying out that this is wrong! You can't do this!

Sure you can! It will be a wild ride. Parts of it will be scary. You may scream every once in a while, but you are going to love it! THIS IS THE REASON YOU BOUGHT THE TICKET!

That "nervousness" you feel is the adrenaline you are pumping, because, suddenly this is real. What you are feeling is not fear of failure; it is the acknowledgment of the possibility of success!

Every time I write something of value I feel the same thing just before I hit the "ENTER" button that takes it out of my hands and puts it out there for the entire world to see.

You - and many others here - will do fine. You are not alone in that front car. Everyone here is riding with you.

I have been involved in IM for a couple of years and until I found this site ~

NOTHING ever was explained sufficiently for me to actually implement the Actions I wanted to take.

Now I, as I assume most others here, am working on this when I get TIME.

Online Marketing is Not Easy - Why is This?

Daily I receive emails telling me how easy it is to make money using the Internet. All I have to do is hit the download now button and put an amount of money usually ending the numeral seven in to a payment processor such as PayPal. Lightning fast the product is digitally delivered to me and within fifteen minutes I could be making money.

Unfortunately these professionally written sales letters have more to do with psychology and how to get people to buy rather than the actual product itself. They have a high probability of being written by a professional copywriter rather than someone that has actually tested or used the product being promoted. Most of the people promoting these products commonly called affiliates have not used or tested the products. Most have little interest in the product itself as to them it is just another product to sell and make money.

So why do we buy these products? We all want to make money online. Most of us have been looking for the "secret ingredient" to allow us to make money on-line. What is this secret ingredient everyone is looking for? Basically it is how to make money with little or no effort.

How are we sold this "magic potion"? We are presented with pictures of enormous mansions, shiny new cars and luxurious holidays. Add to this mix lots of screen shots of bank account details of money most of us only dream of and before you know you are being sold the hope of making money on-line and not the actual product. So, by the time we reach the "download now" button, we buy the product hoping that it is that Holy Grail we are so desperately seeking.

Does the Holy Grail of on-line money making exist? I for one have not found it and I very much doubt I ever will, but I have found clues to the next best thing and I am pursuing it with all of my energy!

The next time you are ready to push that "Buy Now!" button, remember that YOU are the secret ingredient, the "magic potion" and possibly the "HOLY GRAIL!

The next time the mansions, the shiny cars and the promise of "instant wealth become too much, e-mail me and I will talk you through the crisis!

In my book I tell people to read the headline and the first paragraph on these sites and then scroll right past the
* hype,
* the proof of income,
* the testimonials,
* the inevitable BUT WAIT!

and go right to the price.

When the Internet was young, before the dot.com bust, before the GOOGLE slap, this stuff worked. These marketers are still following the P. T. Barnum theory of marketing. Barnum said, "I don't care what people say about me, as long as they say something!"

Many of these marketers have HUGE lists and make obscene amounts of money. They ascribe to the philosophy of - "If it works, don't fix it," not realizing that - if they fixed it, it would work better!

Those of us starting out now don't have that luxury. We have to do it right the first time. The world is sick of being lied to - by our politicians, our preachers, our TVs and yes, by our Internet marketers.

Honesty and transparency are the buzzwords today.
Keep it honest and people will respond to you.

I think we are the lucky ones. It is always easier to live the truth than to live a lie.
