He attempts to translate words from the original Greek text that the New Testament was written in.

There are 365 days of devotions that are featured on this book, corresponding to the 365 days in a year. There are in-depth Greek word studies that allow readers to gain a deeper understanding on some specific words that were used in the Scriptural verses. 9. "Loose That Man and Let Him Go!" by T. D. Jakes

At some point, we experience something traumatic and it leaves deep scars on our psyche. The experience is so bad it affects us years after it has happened. In this inspirational book, T.D. Jakes shows us, especially men, how to let go of the past and face the future with optimism. Jakes allows us to tap our inner selves and give "birth" to individuals who follow God's call and plan.

10. "Called to Be God's Leaders" by Henry Blackaby and Richard Blackaby

What does it take for a person to be leader of God's flock? This is a question that Henry and Richard Blackaby tackle in their collaborative effort "Called to Be God's Leaders." Based on the life of an important person in the Bible, it speaks about the ways and the reasons Joshua was able to lead the Israelites on a journey from the wilderness into the Promised Land. With Joshua as an example, the authors did an excellent job of naming the specific factors that made Joshua victorious in his quest to guide God's people out of the wilderness. I recommend this book to people called by God to lead His flock. The two subtitles of the book are "Lessons From the Life of Joshua" and "How God Prepares His Servants for Spiritual Leadership."

11. "The Devil's Door" by John Bevere

If Jesus Christ saved us by dying on the cross, do we still need to follow His will in order to attain salvation? Some friends from college would say no: it is our belief that God is our one true savior, not our actions that will save us from eternal damnation. Teacher and author John Bevere argues strongly against that point, in one of the most riveting books ever written on Christianity. Bevere raises valid arguments on why we have to be righteous children of God. He challenges everyone to do good everyday because doing so allows us to be in God's grace, and removes us from the influence of the devil.

12. "Elijah" by Charles Swindoll

In yet another powerfully written book, Charles Swindoll tells the story of one of the most admirable figures in the Scriptures - Elijah. Swindoll follows the life of prophet, the things he foretold, challenges he faced, and the journey he made out of Israel after God commanded him to leave.

13. "Joseph" by Charles Swindoll

The author again displays his gift for penning moving stories about the central figures of the old testament. Joseph, the 11th son of Jacob and first born of Rachel, was a righteous person who kept his faith in God even amidst trials and adversities. Left in a pit by his elder brothers who were jealous of the love their father bestowed upon him, Joseph displayed goodness, courage and faith all throughout his life. Sold to slave merchants, he eventually ended up in Egypt in the confidence of the Pharaoh after serving years in prison. He was the great interpreter of dreams who correctly read the Pharaoh's dreams that Egypt will have seven years of abundance, followed by another seven years of drought.

"Your Best Life Now" by Joel Osteen has easily become a national bestseller and has effortlessly stirred the interest of bookworms all over the world.
