- My wife is having an affair, but as to what extent, I'm not sure. She had dinner about 2 months ago with an old flame she hasn't seen in 9 years. Although she told me the name of the person she was having dinner with, she "failed" to mention that he was an Ex. I told her I was hurt about the "deceit" but she assured me it was nothing and that I was the one she loves and wants to grow old with.
Once while I was using my wife's celphone, a message came and it was from him. It was just a "What's up?" but I felt a shiver down my spine. I then checked the "sent messages" and saw that they have been texting each other a lot the past few weeks. Some messages appeared innocent but many quite steamy. These texts were quite sexual in nature. Seems like they were having "text sex". My wife was describing what she's doing to him and she was also asking sexual questions like what he would do to her. No messages were about when or where to meet, though.
My wife is the sweetest thing and she never fails to make me feel how much she loves me. She takes care of me very well and we're very romantic to each other. We may not have sex as often as we want coz of work but when we do, it's always explosive. I also never fail to make her feel loved and wanted. Believe me, if I never snuck a peek into her cel, I'd be none the wiser.
What should I do? I want to save this marriage but I feel so betrayed. Assuming they haven't had sex , yet, and that this is just on the phone, how can I tell her how I feel? Can the marriage still be saved knowing that I would now have doubts in my mind about her true intentions? Please help me. I'm desperate. Thank you.
