Comedy/Kids Movies/Musicals

papawu says:

I do love comedies, but I am a true lover of cinema, period. I love all genres and base my reviews on the quality of the film in question.

ChineseKitesforKids says:

I watch TV with my kids so I prefer comedy and kids shows. Also, theres enough drama in this life without me adding to it so I try to keep my TV drama show free.

Drama/Adventure/Supernatural Movies

FunGifts4All says:

I like both Comedy and Supernatural movies. But if I have to pick, I'd go with the Supernatural.

KathrynDarden says:

While I enjoy a good comedy movie, I am more entertained by a good adventure or drama.

TheWhistler says:

I think both but since I have to pick one I say Drama/Adventure/Supernatural Movies. However, I can't stand movies however that are going along just fine and for some reason they feel they have to introduce profanity from out of nowhere. Spoils the whole thing.

Netflix Movies on Spirituality

001- Facing the Giants

This inspirational drama from award-winning producers Alex and Stephen Kendrick combines faith and football in the tale of high school coach Grant Taylor (Alex Kendrick), who rises above failure to create a winning spirit on the field. Taylor faces a losing team, a failing marriage and the possibility of being fired. At the end of his rope, he puts his life in God's hands and, in doing so, finds a stronger purpose and, ultimately, salvation.
002- Conversations with God

Based on the best-selling autobiographical series by Neale Donald Walsch, this film traces the author's journey from an ever-struggling, hopeless shell of a man to a world-renowned author and spiritual messenger. Lonely, broke and uninspired, Walsch finds himself asking the heavens for answers to his problems. When he begins to hear responses from the God within himself, these answers change his life and become the basis for his first book.
003- Jeremiah: The Bible

Jeremiah tells the story of the prophet who abandons his family, and also the woman he loves, in order to relay God's message in Jerusalem. Although his warning about the destruction of the Holy City results in him being branded as a traitor and persecuted, he continues fearlessly with his mission. His prophecy comes true and he is forced to experience first hand how Jerusalem is destroyed by the Babylonians and how the inhabitants are taken as prisoners to Babylon.
004- Solomon: The Bible

King Solomon's ascent -- from mama's boy to a sovereign famous for his wisdom and international coalitions -- is recounted in this two-part, made-for-TV movie. Part 1 depicts the rivalry between Solomon (Ben Cross) and his half-brother, while Part 2 explores the notion that Solomon and the Queen of Sheba (Vivica A. Fox) shared more than just a political partnership. The script interleaves background information to provide a historical framework.
005- God and Buddha: A Dialogue

In this fascinating and unusual conversation, writer and physician Deepak Chopra talks to religion professor Robert Thurman about the connections and differences between two of India's most important philosophical beliefs: Vedanta and Buddhism. Chopra explores the foundation of Vedanta, while Thurman provides the Buddhist point of view in this meeting held in 1999 at New York City's Tibet House.
006- Be Still

In an age in which multitasking has become second nature, the idea of being "still" almost seems luxurious. Yet achieving stillness through Christian prayer is a spiritually rewarding practice that can change your life forever. In this inspirational program narrated by actor Judge Reinhold and co-directed by his wife, Amy, noted authors, ministers and educators discuss the techniques of contemplative prayer.
007- The Privileged Planet

Embracing the concept of intelligent design and refuting the theory of evolution, this intriguing video posits that Earth was created not by a series of random events but by a "creative designer" who knew exactly what he was doing. Several proponents of intelligent design, including philosophers and scientists, share their views about this controversial theory and provide evidence that supports their premise. Actor John Rhys-Davies narrates.
008- The Work and the Glory: American Zion

Alongside their Mormon brethren, the Steed family moves west in response to religious persecution. Faced with ostracism and violence because of their beliefs, the Steeds struggle to hold their family together amid their own crises of faith. Sam Hennings, Brenda Strong, Eric Johnson and Alexander Carroll star in this stirring historical drama tracing the origins of the Mormon church, the second installment in novelist Gerald N. Lund's epic saga.
009- Emma Smith: My Story

As her adopted daughter listens, an aging Emma Smith (Katherine Thompson) reflects on her rich life, particularly the events that led to her courtship and marriage to Joseph Smith (Nathan Mitchell), founder of the Mormon Church. From her childhood with a strict father to her husband's martyrdom to her later years in Nauvoo, Ill., the biopic offers keen insight into the life of this key figure in Mormon history.
010- Unidentified

Reporters Keith (Jonathan Aube) and Brad (Josh Adamson) have two very different perspectives on the controversial subject of UFOs: One believes in them and the other thinks they're a hoax -- and they're out to prove the other wrong. The two are investigating a UFO sighting in a small town in Texas. What will they uncover? Grammy Award-winning singer Rebecca St. James also stars in Rich Christiano's film from a Christian perspective.
