Why Book Reviews from a Christian Perspective?

Reading is my favorite pastime, so I read many books. Some of my book reviews appear on ChristianActivities.com and on Associated Content.

As a Christian, I enjoy reading reviews written by people who share the same values. Below are some of the books I have taken the time to write up. For more book reviews from a Christian perspective, visit the Book Review page at www.christianactivities.com or check out my Book Review blog at From the Desk of Kathryn Darden

As a self published author, I also invite you to check out my own books, How to Promote Your Book on a Shoestring Budget and The Mayberry Poem - A Tribute to Mayberry, listed below.

I also have a Squidoo lens about Christian Activities Publications as well as a section of movie reviews on Squidoo at Movie Reviews from a Christian Perspective. To view more of my lenses, visit my profile or see the Related Lenses below.

Dark Things by David M. Humphrey, Sr.

House, is an epic supernatural thriller about two couples fleeing from a demonic killer in rural Alabama
Looking for God in Harry Potter
Author John Granger is looking for God in the Harry Potter series Although Granger makes some astute, well-considered, even tantalizing points, he often appears to be stretching as much as Harry himself trying to grasp the elusive Golden Snitch
Levi's Will by W. Dale Cramer
The title of this book is a play on words, reflecting the Amish way of naming a child after his father as in "Levi's (son) Will," as well as a reference to the stubborn will of the father, Levi, and the will bequeathed upon his death.

With Return of the Guardian King, the fourth and final book in her "Legends of the Guardian King" series, Karen Hancock takes the threads from The Light of Eidon, The Shadow Within, and Shadow over Kiriath, and weaves them almost seamlessly into the exciting and rewarding last chapter.
Letters to God by Patrick Doughtie - book review of the novel inspired by the movie 'Letters to God'
The Letters to God movie was inspired by the true events surrounding the life and death of young Tyler Doughtie, whose father, Patrick Doughtie originally intended to write a book. As he was completing work on the movie, Doughtie had the opportunity to make his book a reality with help from fellow Nashville writer, John Perry.

The Mayberry Poem - A Tribute to Mayberry

A Great Gift for Any Mayberry Fan!

The Mayberry Poem - A Tribute to Mayberry is a compilation of poetry about "The Andy Griffith Show" that celebrates the characters and the show that made millions of viewers laugh during the turbulent 60s as they watched the antics and friendships of the good people of Mayberry. The slim volume of poetry, which released at Mayberry Days, contains 204 poems about Mayberry written by over 60 different poets from 20 states as well as Washington, D.C.

Each poem pays tribute to a character, episode, or theme from "The Andy Griffith Show" or simply honors the fictional town of Mayberry itself with its small-town values and simple "good ole' days" way of life. The poems range from humorous limericks to thought-provoking verses about the things that still make Mayberry resonate with viewers today.
