Car Key Finder -- the Super Loc8tor!

Such a unique gift, too! and ever so useful!

Loc8tor Lite Object Finder

As a senior myself, I know how much time I spend looking for things -- like car keys or the remote control! With the super Loc8tor, seniors can tag their most-misplaced items and find them quickly. The device is about the size of a credit card, so convenient to carry in purse or wallet. "The Loc8tor's audio (and visual) cues point you in the right direction and guide you to the exact location of the missing item. With amazing accuracy you will be guided to within an inch of any tagged item, whether indoors or out, in complete darkness, or in a noisy room. To find your item, just turn around in a full circle then walk in the direction of the strongest audible signal shown on the handset. It's that easy!"

TV Screen Enlarger

TV Screen Enlarger , Fits 15 to 25 inch Diagonal TV

Note from Squidoo-er Ccgal in our comments section - "Bob and I bought the screen enlarger for his mother - she used it for several years and it made her TV watching a lot easier. She said it was one of the most thoughtful gifts she had ever had. I saved it (she's passed on now) because I know I'm going to need it one of these days. Very good selection of gifts you've curated here."

TV Screen Enlarger , Fits 15 to 25 inch Diagonal TV

Amazon Price: $57.94 (as of 02/14/2012)Buy Now

"I use the screen to magnify my computer screen. When the agency I work for changed to a smaller font to 'squeeze' more onto the screen, my eyes were constantly tired. They burned and itched, and by the end of the week, I just wanted to keep them closed all weekend. The very first day I used the magnifying screen I could tell the difference. It was like a big relief....no more burning, itchy eyes. I wouldn't be without it at work and would recommend it to anyone!!" Loree Halvorson

And Heater Hal says, "t works good for TV watching! For computer use, you can't magnify the screen much (by moving the lense farther away from the screen) or else it gets too blurry to read fine text/etc.. For TV use, I don't notice any blurring. There is glare. I can see my own reflection, which, mind you, is a beautiful thing to look at, but it's not something I want to see when I'm using my computer or watching TV, especially when I haven't shaved or showered in a while. There seems to be a slight blue tint to the lense, probably just a property of the kind of plastic they used, but I truly cannot notice it affecting the TV or computer colors. I made sure I didn't eat any smurf cereal in a while before double checking on this. The more enlargement you use, the more you have to be watching it from straight in front of it, probably obvious. I'm sure it could be improved technologically, to have some kind of anti-glare coating, and to not have any blur effect for computer use. But, I'm using it and pretty happy with it. "

Seniors Save Their Money for Important Events -- A themed piggy bank would be fun!

I'm sooo behind with my gift giving this year that I'm actually still in the buying process - that and I'm finding better deals now. My grandmother is always the last person I buy for because she tends to be the most difficult and this year, I'm stuck. I want to get her one of these "senior" cell phones I keep seeing advertised and I saw one for like $15 at Walmart - SVC by Tracfone - but I have no idea what to look for. Does it make a difference if the service is prepaid like SVC? Should I look for a contract carrier and pay more?

The key finder (not for me, for my son who is constantly misplacing his keys) and the TV screen enlarger are both jackpots for me. This is an excellent select;ion of items seniors would appreciate. Blessed.

I love the keyfinder for myself, even though I'm only 46 yrs old. My gran is getting a Tracfone SVC phone for XMas with larger keys and letters on the screen, $15 is a bargain.

This key finder is blooming marvelous, it would save me hours of my life to have one of these and I'm only 46 years old. You don't need to be a senior to be a scatter brain like me. My gran though needs a phone with larger keys and letters on the screen, have opted to get her the Tracfone SVC for seniors, it's cheap but light and comfy to carry.

Tech gifts are always a great choice for seniors - especially those who are more home bound since in my experience, it helps them feel more connected with the outside world. I hadn't considered a camera though, but the TV is going to be this year's gift for my grandmother. Last year, I got her first cell phone and that gift was an accident - I wasn't actually shopping for one, but I saw it while I was at Walmart and thought it would be a good idea. The phone, from SVC, was pretty basic and turns out it was a great gift since she took it, uses it, and it got her excited about technology in a way I never expected. I hope the TV gets the same reaction.

What a brilliant selection you have going here. I'm getting my mom a senior friendly cellphone-the SVC-but while practical, it feels a bit boring, so some nice suggestions to spice it up a bit. Especially love the digital frames as she is always asking for photos of the grand-children. Thanks for a good lens.

The key finder is a great idea for those who easily lose their keys. At over $50 for the tv enlarger, it's probably worth spending more and getting a new LCD or LED tv, which would be bigger and far smaller than an older tv. The magnifying glass definitely. I got one for my birthday, since I have trouble reading menus etc when we go out. Digital Photo Frames are great so seniors can see the family and relive special moments. Great ideas, nicely done.

A roll of stamps, some note cards and maybe even a nice selection of all occasion cards, along with the smooth writing pen would always be welcome. A pen that glides easily is a blessing for those who have pain issues and they do make quite a difference.

I really appreciated the great ideas in this lens since every year I struggle to think of something to give my 90+ year old mom who lives in a retirement community. There were some things here that would have never thought of. Blessed by a SquidAngel.

Joan, I love these ideas. The tattoos are a hoot! And speaking of handmade gifts, one of my favorites is a photograph of my 8 year old granddaughter that she lovingly put in an old frame, wrapped it up and gave to me. It's priceless. Handmade gifts are the best of all.
