The Sesame Street You Remember
I don't know if it is an over inflated memory of when I was a kid, higher expectations built up over time, or simply that today's Sesame Street just doesn't have what it used to, but I am not a big fan of today's Sesame Street.
I will do my best to put here links to clips of the Sesame Street you remember and love. You can take a walk down memory lane. And, if you have kids, bring them along for the ride.

- Growng up in the 1970's and watching Sesame Street, I was addicted to it upon waiting for the test card to end. Sometimes I watched it late at night, figuring that the show would come on, but I was way to young and didn't understand time. I loved it when they had played some of the fast pased movie clips, as you saw the actors trying to put together a letter of the alphabet. . I still have a major crush on Sonia Manzano (Maria). I got the old school DVD's and I still thnk that there were a few clips that they missed. Yeah, they do have the More sunny times website to view the classic clips, but Youtube has even more classic clips . I really do relate to Big Bird as the grownups didn't have much patience with him sometimes, as he often came over whenever the grownups were very busy working and really didn't want to be disturbed. I have to say that I did see Big Bird Live at Nassau Colliseum and took photos from front row seats, and he really is 8ft 2 in tall. It's a camera trick they do to make him fit into the scene with the grownups. My memorable clips was the guy from india meditating and counting numbers,(you can meditate to the sound of the sitar) the Madrigal alphabet, as well as the Mad number painter. I often felt sorry for poor Bert when Ernie had played jokes and managed to win the argument he had with Bert, but it was funny to watch. Sad when Mr. Hooper Died, but the store had changed with new owners. The only time I saw retro of the show is when they took trips down memory lane within some episodes. I also loved it in the early episodes when they played the Sesame Street ending song on the Celesta, along with a music box type sound to make it sound like a lullabye..

- I agree with you completely! The old "classic" Sesame Street was so much better. I found your other lenses about Sesame Street celebrities and then I followed the link to this one. I like this one much better as I am a big fan (even though I am in my 40!) of the old Sesame Street.
